For being a Neil Gaiman fantasy & having the budget of a major blockbuster this was so damn boring. There wasn't a bit of humor in it that could at least be a break from the dark foreboding drivel. The pacing was off and it was just hohum. There was literally no connection with any of the characters. The actors did a fine job sign what they're given and the settings were interesting. Something about the script, pacing, and atmosphere just didn't sync very well.

I really enjoyed this little film. It was a perfect lazy day watch. I have always liked the Basco brothers (especially Dante aka Rufio). It was interesting watching the various brothers' stories play out. I'm not Filipino but I can relate to how diverse siblings can be and how different are the relationships. This is not a heavy film or something to watch if you're expecting pure comedy or pure drama. It is a mix of both. I do enjoy the Filipino perspective. My cousin is from Manila and I am going to be interested to hear his perspective.

The setting alone is amazing. It's like an ode to the 1980s. It reminded me of my childhood and my parents only without the murder. About the murder and the case, it is a slow burn. I enjoyed how things weren't linear and it would jump around. It gave the scenes an air of mystery and gives context into the murder on both sides. All in all I was impressed with Jessica's acting and I liked this Hulu show a lot.
