If I were Clarence Gilyard, I would have rejected this script. His clean-cut character was turned into an obnoxious teenager who ogles the girl he's been on 3 dates with, licking his chops and constantly insisting that she let him into her pants. Why are they trashing Conrad's character like that? I think it's because they didn't trust the audience to figure out that Conrad might be physically attracted to the model he's been dating. It wasn't obvious enough just by the circumstance.
Really wanted to love this movie, but lightning did not strike twice. Missing Anna Kendrick, even though her absence is not the reason this movie disappoints. The reason is bad choices made in the screenplay.
The attempts to humorously flesh out the lives of Christian and Braxton fell flat. Their respective attempts at dating were not actually funny, and smell of desperation to try to give this pair of enigmas some kind of inner life. This only gets worse later, with Braxton's whining about their relationship. Give me a break.
The rest of the story -- the brain-injured super assassin and her mysterious organization, the fishmonger crime boss and his henchman killer -- silly stuff. Uninteresting.
Marybeth has a good story line here. I wish it were integrated into a better movie.

I like the idea of this episode, and the mechanics of the plot are interesting. The setting of the jury room is a clever showcase for Jessica's talents.
However, the execution of this episode leaves a lot to be desired. The director must have insisted strongly that everyone overact to the max. I've only served on one jury, and in that case, no one shouted even once. In this episode, almost all the jurors are hair-trigger hotheads, shouting their disagreement every time Jessica even wanted to discuss some detail of the case. It's not pleasant to sit through.
... filler to meet the 600 char minimum...
