The show focuses heavily on negative traits and does not show an accurate representation of talents and gifts people on the spectrum have. I found myself agitated watching this because the characters are one dimensional and not very likable, which is not how autistic people should be represented.
Many, the aid makes choices that don't make sense and it come off as corny. Why is she the focus so much? She is also very patronizing and treats them like children. Autistic people are not stupid and they are likable people. The forward things they say are not always rude. Sometimes it's a hilarious truth we are all thinking, and can't help but laugh when it's finally said. Other times it's very kind things... I wish the writers had a clue and could show these complex's that are not all negative- just different.

I was so excited to see this movie that I purchased it instead of renting it because of the good reviews. The story was as cheesy as a bad lifetime movie. It lacked any believable emotion, but included every cliche. Great idea, bad execution.
It's like an after school special. I watched the first episode, and it reminded me of being in JR High and watching high school students act out scenarios from after school specials. Remember when Punky Brewster was offered every drug possible by the "cool girls"? It's that bad. They got it that wrong. The first episode throws almost every dilemma out there before the episode is even half over. Yikes.
