Incredible subject matter, but BORING to tears. It still makes me irritated days later, leading me to write my first ever review.
They have a handful of different stories, and it's cool to see the reality of this situation.
However, could have easily wrapped up all the content in this film within 10 minutes or so.
It just shows them in their daily lives, without any real points or excitement. They should have either found more people to interview, or cut this into a short video.
Ridiculously boring. It's a good background film where you don't actually invest any attention to it.
Good things about it: very much based in reality, and has charming characters. It shows a couple tragic cases (who recognize / are friends with each other), and a handful of ladies who haven't changed their life at all but can afford some nicer appliances.
Truly, they basically only have a couple different stories here and just drag it out and out, without any emotional attachment to their story. This is a case where the sensational exaggerated style of Netflix documentary productions would be much more entertaining and effective for this subject.

I figured I'd chime in as there's not many reviews here. Very pleasant watch for it's "weight class".
This film is very much a low budget indie, and as far as these "Tubi" movies go, it's definitely worth checking out.
There's many of these lower budget films on sites like Tubi, and I was really glad that I checked this one out. It's very relatable, down to earth and because of that the positive messages are much more realistic than a big budget production.
As the others here have stated, it's about self improvement, but more importantly it's a film about wasted potential. Decent comedy, worth checking out for sure.
It has moments of lackluster dialogue, and acting that isn't super sharp but the overall heart and soul of the movie is authentic and easy to latch onto.
It has some cynicism along the veins of "Clerks", but personally I think it's even more sincere than that and offers a lot of second chances and messages of hope, ability to still change.
The characters aren't super fleshed out besides our main protagonist, but they all get their own moments of redemption. Overall I really liked this film, especially because at first glance I didnt think it was gonna be worth watching.
This led me to write my very first review here on IMDB to help convince more to watch it.
I was impressed by the filmmakers who put this together because it takes a lot of effort and guts to complete a feature, and this left me with a good feeling about change in a way that was not very cheesy or "Hollywood".
The small town Texas setting really sold it for me as a real story with regular people.
