I watched this for Bill Skarsgård who I really like watching in films. Oh well. Typical revenge film that you wished had actual twists and turns to knock you off your guard. Nope. We felt let down in the end as this movie could have been much, much more. There were many flaws. It was interesting to see so much violence sort of cushioned with comedy relief, but even that was few and far between so it seemed out of place. Some fight scenes were so illogical. Why fight with your hands when, you know, right next to ya...? We were sad, hoping the review number was true to word. Nope. Better luck next time.

  • LOL Hollywood has been flushed, and this is why. Do Not Watch!

This isn't even a movie. It is some delusional adolescent writer who has no clue about history or truth. Yes, someone had to turn this around into a script, maybe it is more them to blame? Who knows and who cares. Do not watch this movie.

In all of my years I typically will *try* to watch a movie to the end. Not this one. I do not even think we made it halfway. Everything about this disjointed diatribe is childish.

There is no story there. The script is goofy. The plot is unknown. The characters are not endearing. Too bad Dunn chose to do this movie. I am sure actors are getting desperate.

This is why Hollywood has declined into junk stock. Look for other studios outside of Hollywood with people who can think critically, know history, have talent and know how to turn a good story into a coherent, engaging script. Yikes this is so bad.

  • Andrea Riseborough is fantastic

Watching Andrea Riseborough's character in this film is the real treasure. Fantastic job from years gone past. It's hard to tell who(m) this story is based on but it doesn't matter. The seediness, manipulation and deceit is true enough. This is a very dark film that is not for everyone. The method of slowly unraveling or diving into the depths of sick and/or greedy or self-absorbed humans is disturbing and will stay with you. I felt there were a few holes. Some stuff purposely left to your imagination, but some unresolved. It was well made, and again, worth watching Riseborough's performance as a younger actor.

  • Laughable tripe

Was Harrison Ford forced contractually to make this movie? I'm sorry but this entire movie was embarrassing. The person I was watching this with left the room within fifteen minutes and never came back. Too ridiculous and lame. Two stars for some visuals. What a disgrace for the "legacy" of Indiana Jones. The simplistic ways of trying to recreate the feel and vibe of the originals shows there is not much talent left in hollywood - or wherever this movie was made across the globe. Helena was a poor character. Nasty and worthless to the story. The ending was predictable. I watched it so that you don't have to.

  • Don't waste your time

I have never watched a show hit rock bottom so fast and so hard. The initial premise was good and intriguing, then very quickly the show turned into a joke and became unwatchable. Another embarrassing production with zero depth or vision and no real storyline. The script was awful. All of the substories or subplots were plugins that did nothing to tie the show all together. Do the actors really enjoy this nonsense? Do they enjoy playing cartoon characters in someone else's head? Goofy and unintelligent. Like I said, no depth, no insight. No story. A disjointed mess. Will they learn from this? No. Because they do not know how to.

  • Yikes! No.

I know no one that really liked this show, even my French as first language friends. The show is very boring, and yes I understand the pace and style of Sam Spade stories, but this could be unbearable to watch. The show was riddled with too many cliches. So much of what we saw seemed so unrealistic. It seemed like no one lived in the town except the one or two people needed for the next scene. Weird. Short on budget? I have always liked Clive Owen and the types of films he chooses, but this one was a dud. Someone who watched the show with me said it seemed like they had no idea where they were going with the story and plot. Yes. And the last scene, no spoilers, was just plain goofy and out of place. Ridiculous even. What?

  • A decent action flick

This movie was probably very fresh back in 2017 when it was released. The two younger stars did a pretty good job and it was a sort of showcase of future more mature action or hero roles, if they wanted it. The maiming and gunshots and other forms of violence were more realistic than I normally see. It is a simple plot, yes. Have we seen movies like this before? Yes. But so what. It was a good weekend movie with popcorn and surround sound. Keaton did a good job. It's hard because you recognize him and remember his other famous parts, but that soon dissipated. This was a decent tight film that accomplished what it set out to do.

  • Trash.

Dumbest movie I've seen in a while. We turned it off without finishing it. Not worth it. What was the point? This is one of those movies where they try, oh they try so hard to be clever but end up looking like pretentious fools. What a waste of money. I'm surprised some of the actors in this film chose this script and agreed to play part in it. Embarrassing for them. But it's a paycheck I guess, or they owed a favor. Don't waste your time. It was easy for us to click off and never return. Nothing about this film was good. I do no recommend. Child-like in script and dialogue. Child-like in plot. Meh.

Oh come on. Some people took this movie way too seriously with their ridiculously low ratings. It is what it is with no pretentious "deeper meaning". This was a fun ride. A goofy at times holiday treat. Yes, you could probably predict some of what was coming, but so what. The cast was great. And so many other fun characters in the entire movie. The baby was so cute and hysterical at times. This is a sit back with popcorn and laugh movie. If you just want to relax and enjoy a movie that is not stuffed with obligatory "stuff" and divisive messaging, this is it. It is entertainment. Don't take it too seriously.

This was a nice funny and sweetly romantic holiday film. Good clean fun. I did not know some of the actors and was pleasantly surprised by the entire cast. A movie they should all be proud of.

  • I loved this show

When I first started watching it, I turned it off thinking it was way over the top. Then went back and watched a bit more. I usually try to give a show a few episodes before rejecting it outright. I'm so glad I returned. While it is true that every once and a while some scenes or dialogue are completely over the top, I laughed and laughed and laughed through this crazy show. It has an endearing style and you grow to really like the characters, even if some are outwardly annoying or not. Stick with this show. It's humorous and bingeworthy. The contrast in characters really makes it work. What a balancing act. Kudos.

  • I would never miss a Mission Impossible, but...

This is the first Mission Impossible movie that felt superficial and soft. I understand Cruise is older and just cannot be as physical as before (realizing he did do some of the outstanding stunts- fantastic). The new woman character introduced did not work. In acting or in chemistry. She always seemed to be on the verge of laughing or smiling. It was weird. Dialogue was goofy and at times did not make sense. Goofy scenes too. Long, drawn out movie. Sigh. I'm surprised Cruise did not push for more quality and perfection. This is his baby. But it was a weekend action flick to watch at home with some popcorn.

  • 1 star for acting

The actors in this series are pretty good. What a cast. But that is it. What a sad fact. There are no heroes. Certainly no heroines. A divisive (I guess that is what they wanted?), angry, and disjointed mess of scenes and concepts. LOL, everyone is bi now. No one is buying it folks. This is a show that shows women portrayed as stupid, psychotic, angry, and just sick. Who was this written for? Oy. Another series that could have been good but dummied down and agenda-driven. The "Second Screen Principle" in full display here too. We need new and fresh writers, studios and production houses. The shows are becoming like Tabloid news.

Sadly after being excited about seeing this series, like most stuff coming out of "wherever" (Hollywood is dead), the level of writing is just amateur. The acting is awful. The plot? Won't spoil it. Agendas? Yes. Immersive? No. Connection to characters? No. Like many that want to be entertained we are just disappointed time and time again. I have read how bad streaming revenue really is yet they do the same thing over and over and over again. People want entertainment, not gratuitous scenes that do not fit the real story. Please. Please. We need new studios (there is one!) that can put out honest, good entertainment.

  • Could not finish this...

I said all I had to say in the review of episode one. Most that we know watching this did not return to watch episode two. I did and it was worse than the first. It takes a lot for anyone to just stop watching a shop mid-stream, but it is easy to do with this season of the Ryan saga. We are soooo disappointed. It is embarrassing to watch. The level of the dialogue seems written for young children. Much is irrational and timelines unrealistic. Yes, it's just a tv show, but it's just too embarrassing for words. Such a shame. We are now 100% done with this series. Time to move on. Get a new script writer, and a new director. Give the actors some caffeine....

  • Yikes! That happened to this show?

We really liked the first seasons. This new season is thin and like a slice of Swiss cheese. Simple dialogue. Jumping ahead in time where things are done or fixed without us seeing it. The direction is awful. The acting is okay depending on who you are talking about. Many seem to be just reading their lines. What a big disappointment. We tried to watch the second episode of this season and it was unbearable. What changed? Why are the actors so lazy and non-caring in playing their roles. We know they can do better than this. What a shame. There is not much to watch with any level of excellence these days, but we at least thought this was fun in the past. No longer.

  • Nothing of value

There is nothing of value in the movie. Nothing redeemable. It tries, oh, it tries, but ends up to be a waste of time. Every character is bad in some respect. What was the point of this movie? Ask yourself that after you watched it. I did. Nothing. There is no point. The writer of this dismal, hopeless and dark piece has to be projecting his or her own insecurities, thoughts of all people being evil or bad, and sorry life. We are seeing a lot of this. Projection and agendas. Sad for anyone who wanted a career in movies or tv. You become the puppets of unstable people spewing garbage through the "art" which it no longer is. Pass.

  • Walking Dead Wannabe

I made it to episode 3, then turned off for good. Everything is wrong with this series. Slow, superficial, thin, propaganda list completed, goofy, laughable. Nothing is emotionally moving. If you've watched the Walking Dead, you will laugh all the way through this. It's just silly. Sad for any actors these days. Such garbage to choose from, but they have to make a living. Scriptwriters are using cookie cutter topics and themes and then trying to build some sort of irrational and senseless story around them. It is so embarrassing. Watch the Walking Dead. Good writing, great characters, and believable infected humans. Pass on this one.

  • Genres: Comedy, Fantasy & Embarrassing

Those of us watching this together looked at each other and said "What the heck did we just watch?" We were fools to follow this all the way through, as like others have stated, they hoped it would get better. It did not; it only got worse.

Trying to avoid "spoilers" which should be called "beware of stupidity" there were so many things wrong with this series, pluck a topic out of the air and it was awful.

Other than Luke Evans, the acting was atrocious.

    The script was low IQ.

The entire plot and rationale was clown thinking.

    Agendas? Laughable.

Hollywood actually died because of drivel like this leading to streaming services of choice. Apple looks bad here. Waste of money.

This is another movie written by children. It is unbearable to watch. Not funny. Horrible acting. And of course politically dumb. Wow, Hollywood is dead. Has been. For years now. Go away or grow up and produce a movie with a real storyline, decent characters, a good script.

What else is there to say about another movie mirroring the themes of Idiocracy. Thank goodness for streaming and choice. Who rated this so high? Fake. So easy to fake reviews now. The so-called actors aren't even trying. A cast of clowns trying to make money with whatever is thrown at them. No thanks. We all decided to stop the movie as we could not take it anymore. Are they proud of this? LMAO LOL.

  • Embarrassing and pretentious

I will say it was difficult getting through the first episode. I usually give a show a try with 2-3 episodes but episode 1 was so bad that I won't continue. It's THAT bad.

It can be laugh out loud hypocrisy (and cluelessness) as the dialogue, seemingly obsessed with America, while they spew pretentious and often embarrassing lines as if they are clever and superior - all the while trashing America and Americans in this manner. Mirrors do exist. Please look in them. That is some comedy gold there. And as others have mentioned, they jump into the way-back machine to old historical US elections about a bag lady, a grifter who lost. Who cares? Get over it. A show of British actors set in a French city, yet overly obsessed with the United States of America? LOL Comedy Gold.

The pauses, as if one of the main actors continually forgets his lines are equally embarrassing. The entire cast is British set in a French city. Have you ever been there? This is so unrealistic, again, embarrassing. LOL Where are the "Merci's?" The stereotyping of the French -the foods, the setting, the mannerisms. Embarrassing.

This show feels like the writers used a Travel Guide to Paris for all of their information. And the acting is awful on top of that. Everyone sounds utterly ridiculous, physically basking in French culture yet no French culture to be found.

Same ole topics. Same ole concepts. Same ole dummied down scripts. Where are the good, intelligent writers of old, with depth and wisdom or a modicum of knowledge of what they pretend to be writing about?

    What is this?

Like someone else wrote in these comments, it's a checklist. Hollywood and its extension have become a checklist cult. No originality, no creativity, no critical thinking, zero entertainment. Pure propaganda dressed up as - well, who knows what, but it's not worth watching.

I wonder how many viewers made it to the end of this "film"?

Two stars for a couple of the actors that at least tried knowing that this was complete garbage. What a risk for those in this movie.

The "pull" was Willis, which was a dud. Hollywood is dead.

    Actions scenes were awful.

    Acting (in general) was laughable.

  • Good show, fun style

I enjoyed Reacher quite a lot. The style of the character and the show had a good balance with some humor and action scenes. Some scenes are pretty gruesome for the faint of heart. Not for young children.

All in all it was a refreshing change. Not too deep and complex. Some light humor mixed in. Action and fight scenes. A classic good guys versus bad.
