I think Gadd knew the difficulty of portraying a man victimized by a woman stalker without coming off as a male rights idiot. The way he found to do this was to systematically make himself unsympathetic, but also portray his vulnerability. I think it works with a nice balance.
And Jessica Gunning is simply amazing as Martha the stalker. Fully committed acting so that I half believed she WAS Martha. But then also an expert portrayal of mental illness.
Nava Mau as a trans woman, Teri, he meets and dates is also fascinating. Clearly a good woman and their relationship kinda works, kinda doesn't.
Gadd is a weird fellow and that threads through the work, making it a surreal piece.

Unless you like torture don't watch it. I like the show I hate watching torture. This brings together a few threads but not much, and far too little to justify the torture.
