So it has to be worth watching! Once again, Bruce Dern hits his part out of the park. This AH episode, and 'Lonely Place' are terrific because of Bruce Dern's presence. He is one of the best actors, not only of his generation, but all of Hollywood. He also played his role brilliantly in Alfred Hitchcock's final film, 1978s, "Family Plot", which was also a big hit for Bruce Dern. I've followed Bruce Dern's entire career and I don't think he's ever done a poor job of acting. No mater what the role or how small, he gives it everything he's got and it shows in the final product. I grew up during the 1960s and I wish Bruce had gotten some of the parts other actors played who were good, but not in Bruce Dern's league.
Don Barry played the part of the wino as well as it could ever be played. He was absolutely excellent in his role. It was a small part, yes, but played to the hilt.
Adam-12 had many great character actors over their 8 year run, and some were really well played, and other weren't, but Don Barry was so genuine as a drunkard, living on the streets of Los Angeles.
Marin Milner and Kent McCord were always great as the cops we get to go on patrol with. Always loved this show, and nothing like it on t.v. These days. It was 'made for t.v' and not always as realistic as it must have been for many police officers back in the day, but still top notch entertainment.

A very touching episode and Judy Carne, who is a comedian, did a very good job as the young nun from Ireland and Boston, hoping to make a life for herself as one of God's helpers. Dan Blocker was great as usual as 'Hoss'. This was the type episode Mike Landon talking about when he came up with 'Little House on the Prairie', and 'Highway to Heaven'. He said these 'tearjerkers' were the highest rated episodes on 'Bonanza', and did the same for his other two hit series. 'A Question of Strength' really brought a tear to your eye.
