Great job with the writing, casting, acting, and set design! I didn't know about this woman and was flying back from Italy as I saw this on the plane. I wish I knew of her before I went to the Vatican to give her proper respect for all she did for not only Italian immigrants, but all impoverished people of the world. What an outstanding soul to fight until the bitter end for my people in times of dead-ends for them. I bawled my eyes out on the plane and didn't care because I felt so connected to this amazing human being. Great movie, great story--you won't be disappointed! Cristiana Dell'Anna killed it!
Season 1 and 2 were both great for different reasons, but they both start kind of slow as the goal is developing the characters.
Just finishing up season 2 and am loving it. The Sicilian landscapes, the Italian language, the opulence, the raciness, and the brilliant writing make it fun. Give each season a solid 3 episodes to allow for the character development.
If you're looking for something entertaining, give this series a chance. The intertwining of characters is great! If you have kids put them to sleep because there is lots of sex and nudity (including male full-frontals and risqué sexual encounters) and some drug use. It's so fun!

The casting is "off-base" this season. Chris Rock is type-casted as funny; a comedian, not a serious role, so it's tough for me to get past it to see him play this part. Jason Scheartman is not a bad actor but what were they thinking casting him as the boss? The creepy brother is far stronger. Perhaps they wanted the weaker to be "boss?"
