The title explains itself in that I have seen these movies long ago but they don't seem to be available through any of the sources available today. Pay per view does not count in this list.  I hope they turn up eventually.

This is not to reflect that some of these are not good movies.  I have seen them and do not desire to see them again.

I won't try to determine how many TV series I have watched in my 72 years but it is a lot.  Nowadays I find myself series fewer and fewer series since the tone of the programs had degenerate to a level that I find insulting and bad taste. Too many series today are too political and too much to be insulting to the standards that I hold dear.  Too many series spend too much material pushing an agenda that I am not comfortable.  Understand that I am not a prude. I have retired from the Federal Prison System and the military so I have seen it all and heard it all.

I have found a number of the movies from the other list that I was looking for.  These are the movies that I still can't find.

I read the book about this in English Lit and have never forgotten it. I later learned there have been numerous adaptations of it.  Al lot of them are good but some do not do the original move justice.  I hope the estate of Richard Connell is still getting royalties from the magnificent work including the adaptations for TV and other media.

Some people may dismiss the American Cowboy/Western with contempt but in most western movies and novels, the cowboy is very good at thinking on his/her feet and adapting to whatever environment to succeed.  I will ad to this description later and I will give more details to each movie that I include on this list when I have time.

Movies Where The American Cowboy Is In A Foreign Environment

Everyone has that special group of movies that they will drop everything they are doing or DVR it to watch as soon as they can when it comes on. This also applies that they will buy the DVD for their collections. It does not matter how many times they have seen it, they will watch it time and time again. These are some of mine and I will be adding to them as time goes by.

I am a big fan of sci fi and will watch or save for when I can watch them whether as a group or not.

There are certain actors who have played a character so well that no one can imagine anyone else playing the part. Sometimes it is a question as to did the actor own the part or did the part own the actor. Some of the actors were able to escape the part and move on to other parts but they still owned the part. Other actors unfortunately were so identified with the part that they were typecast and had extreme difficulty getting other parts. A very tragic situation where often the actors had done very well earlier in a variety of parts.

A lot of people don't remember that Elvis Presley made about thirty movies. His career in the movies started well and could have gotten better. He wanted to be a good actor but his manager Tom Parker caused him to miss out on a lot of good parts over issues like money and top billing when the other performers had already paid their dues. In retrospect, Parker helped Presley a lot but a lot of people feel that Parker was more looking out for #1 and keeping his meal ticket (Presley) under his thumb than anything else.  This is a list of what could have been.

These are westerns where women do not wait to be rescued or protected by men.  Also, they are not ready to throw it all away for love and often they have to reap what they sow.  In the old west, it was probably a lot like that and any woman who could shoot was up on the barricades shooting when it was necessary.  Of course I enjoy most westerns anyway but these are westerns that think outside the box.  I will be adding more as I discover them.  I am surprised that none of these movies are being remade at this time. I invite anyone who is familiar with westerns of similar nature to email me on this site with the titles and I will add them. There are others that are fun to watch but they usually take place in an off beat setting and I don't necessarily consider them serious westerns. I may change my mind about some of them as time goes by.  As Colombo said many times to the extreme annoyance of the suspect, "Just one more thing", I only include movies on my lists that I have watched so I can be as fair and accurate as possible.

Almost every movie, western or western style drama,  ends with a great shoot out sequence. Here I will attempt to note the name of the movie and when the shootout really began until the end.

There was never a slapstick comedy act like The Three Stooges. Moe, Curly, and Shemp Howard; Larry Fine, Joe DiRita, and (yes) Joe Besser. Even today when they are mentioned, people often react with a chuckle. Some people say they did not measure up to such acts as The Marx Brothers, Abbott and Costello, Lewis and Martin, Laurel and Hardy and many others but The Three Stooges were in a class of their own who often did not get the recognition and credit that they should have gotten until after the deaths of Curly and Shemp and toward the end of the careers of the others. Rest in peace for a job well done.

I love a good western and am always looking for new one and even independently produces ones with unknown actors. I like the old standards and if they are part of a set, I can binge watch them with pizza and milk.
