I hadn't read the books, so I was surprised I got into this series so quickly. Only to be let down by Netflix cancelling after season 2. The season 2 finale was amazing, and that's when I started following youtube accounts that posted compilations of the show, everyone getting excited about season 3, etc. Then... out of nowhere, it just gets cancelled?? If nothing else, I have become a huge fan of Ben Barnes (who sings!) and Jessie Mei Li. But I really do wish they had continued the series. I've seen a lot of people saying the Crows storyline is good to watch, if not better, although personally I'm more about romance, so probably not for me.
I love Erica Durance, and I love love, and I love tense love triangles (usually). So this show started off pretty good, I'd say for the first season MAYBE second season. After that? I don't know how the writers could possibly make me hate both of Alex's love interests so much. I started skipping through so many scenes that I didn't even know what was going on anymore by the middle of season three, and I just skipped ahead to reading spoilers. Yep, somehow the writers even made it worse, so I'm glad I have made the decision to stop watching this. Props to all of the actors though, and I especially love watching Canadian shows like this where the guest stars are all people I recognize from other Canadian shows, it's a small world for those actors! The music for the show was also very good I'd say, based on how often I had shazam open.
