Have to admit, the opening scene was great (if you ignore the terrible CGI), but for all the wrong reasons...
I remember this series being more about giving you that ominous, spine-tingling shudder, when you knew death was, slowly but surely, about to take a soul. However, this time around, all it did was give me a good laugh.
Worth a watch for the deaths - they've always been the highlight of this franchise, and they don't disappoint.
But you're not going to find anything 'scary' here, nor are you going to find any tantalising writing; weak script.
Disappointed really, because all the raving reviews and decent ratings gave me a false hope that it was going to be something special.

I kept thinking that there has to be something more. There's got to be a big twist coming. There's no way they're just going to open the new series by animating the Chili Peppers performing one of their hits and that's it, right? Surely not.
Welp, that was it... No twist. No nothing.
Just really don't get the point of it? Doesn't add anything to the series. Doesn't even fit the idea of the series. Why bother?
Really disappointing, because the whole time you're thinking 'There's going to be a clever moment somewhere', and it never arrives.
Just trying to reach the minimum required characters at this point...
