From the opening scene when an English knight is speaking with a Muslim after the crusades, and the Muslim is speaking with a strong American accent, to the skateboarding friar, I could tell this film was not going to be good
The actress playing the Princess with her fake English accent and her pouty mouth and modern looks (and wooden performance) was miscast- or maybe she was cheap to hire?. What on earth was Joan Plowright doing in this? She must have been told it was a serious drama
Patrick Swayze with a facelift and playing an English soldier, again with a NY accent. Obviously this film was not to be taken seriously. And here's us thinking it was going to be an historical drama😀
The worst was yet to come the bloopers, obviously deliberate, at the end of the film were more cringeworthy and humorous.
I thought that the current film of The Roses was bad, but this comes a close second.

This is a great drama telling of three young women who work as nannies in Edwardian households. There's a lot of unfairness in how they are treated but unfortunately that's what those in service had to put up with.
There is some great acting especially for an all three nannys. The children are wonderful. There are a few poor performances, especially from Jason O'Hara playing Ned the 'London' footman. He must have studied Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins - his accent leaves a lot to be desired (cor blimey mate) We have Hermione Norris in her boring, monotone speech who somehow seems to be cast as a lovely. Attractive woman and she's obviously not. It's a wonderful drama and worth watching.

I've watched a few of these as I like the biographical aspect, despite the sadness.
As Beatles and George fan, I found this hard to watch as George was so young when he died. All the footage and photographs I've seen over the years show him smoking and we all know that's not a healthy thing to do. George wouldn't have known that in his younger days - we now know it's addictive and a killer.
What I found sad and surprising is that the doc didn't mention George's success in The Travelling Wilburys and the great friends and respect he had. Even worse was to mention a RUMOUR that George had a relationship with Madonna (!!). It's well documented what he thought of her. Yet he did go into detail about George's sexual habits. The programme needs serious editing.
