Eko captivated me through its unique storytelling where nothing is told about Kuriachan, the mysterious guy everyone is after in this film. He's not even shown for a while and it's only through other characters that you learn about him and yet you still know nothing. With a narration that takes you off guard a lot of times, Eko manages to keep you hooked till the very end. I was 100% entertained.
Gulmohar is the type of drama that demands you sit down and pay attention. It's written in a way that goes heavy on the dialogues and the interactions of its characters, so pick up your phone to check notifications and you might miss a crucial scene. It's that kind of a film where the characters undergo so much pressure and change that it's cathartic to see them transform. A very well-made film that's an almost perfect family drama to watch and wonder about on a Sunday afternoon. Manoj Bajpayee as always is a treat to watch.
I watched The Ear at such a particular time in my life (a couple of days ago, actually) that I could totally relate with the central male character, who goes through a roller-coaster of emotions in just a few hours all because of his thoughts. In the film, a minister and his wife return home to see that their house has been broken into and are convinced that they've been compromised, by the sovereign state. This leads them to paranoia and make them do things that are both comic and tragic. More than the politics, I believe The Ear talks about marriage and paranoia.
