I saw this movie on a cable channel. I have a rule. If I don't connect with a movie in fifteen minutes then it's deleted. I hit the fifteen minute mark. That's it. It's getting deleted. Then I realized that I wasn't completely certain. Okay, I'll go another fifteen.

The second round came and went. I didn't think so. I went to delete it. As I was in the act I thought, I am still a little uncertain. Okay. Fifteen more minutes.

The third round came. No, for sure this isn't working. Time to delete. I grabbed my remote. There was still some background radiation telling me to keep going. Sigh. Well, if I'm forty-five minutes in, I may as well go the distance.

If you notice my rating you can get a sense of what I thought by the time it was done. I'd say that I cried like a baby but that's not fair. Babies don't cry as hard as I did.

Deleting this movie is the best decision I ever didn't make. Sometimes magic turns up in the damndest places. Give yourself the gift of this wonderful picture.

Here's how much I loved this series. When it concluded I went through a period of mourning. No more of those performances that swept me away. No more of that brilliant dialogue and involving plot. I felt tjat I'd been cast out of paradise.

I see that there are reviews that were either indifferent or hostile. All I can say is see it and judge for yourself. I think this is brilliant and they're nuts. Take a look and see which of us is crazy.

I'm from the States. I didn't know the leafs, or anyone else in the cast. That made the experience more fun. It was like eavesdropping on real life. See it. Love it.

Other reviews berate this Broadway Brevity as though they were critiquing a feature. This short was intended to be a piece of candy for audiences who'd come in to see a feature. It succeeds royally.

This story of a soda jerk who goes from rags to riches (sort of) is thin, but that's okay. It's not intended to be anything other than a vehicle for more musical numbers. If you take a moment to look at the bio of the star, George Price, his early life is punctuated with the same sort of unlikely breaks that our soda jerk experiences.

If you want a solid story with great writing and memorable performances, look elsewhere. If you'd enjoy a light hearted stroll, look no farther.
