It took 41 years and today I finally got to see this classic. Where have I've been all that time? Unbelievable. With Darren McGavin ( tv Riverboat, Kolchak, The Night Stalker as the " grumpy"dad and Melinda Dillon ( Close Encounters of The Third Kind, Absence Of Malice ,both Oscar nominated) as good old mom and scene stealing Peter Billingsley as Ralphie boy this is a MUST for anyone who'd like to reminisce about how it was way back when. You'll laugh throughout this wonderful film at this little boys plight to garner his favorite "Santa gift" for that year. Taking place in the 1940s it's a Santas gift that one and all will remember for some time. Think I'll go and watch it again and try and make up for the times I could've seen it!!
1972, Munich, Germany. The actual date of the catastrophic events depicted is the title for this historic docudrama! Through the "eyes" of ABC Sports (the television network arm who televised via satellite the '72 Olympics to the USA) we witness, viewing the timeline of what occurred that day in the command center. Riveting acting, a well written script and the storyline will keep the audience in their seats throughout this well directed movie. Saw it at a mystery movie preview the week it's supposed to be released, ()now Jan 17, 2025) It left me mesmerized at how tragic the event was and how the lack of security that these world athletes needed was not in sight until .....
I went to see this on Monday the week it is to be released and found it riveting in the first 5 minutes. Did the Order take their lessons from Bonnie and Clyde!! À first class look at 1980s domestic terrorism right here in these United States. A wonderful cast with Law as the 20 year plus FBI agent, Nicholas Hoult in another smashup role and a cast that makes you feel like you're there amongst the Neo Nazi Aryan Nation. Tough, gripping and based on a true story this was a welcomed good use of 2 plus hours of my time. You won't be falling asleep watching this little gem!! Hopefully.you see it and will be looking up info about the events.
