It's about hillbillies who get up to no good at night and one of them ends up dying. So I thought it would be extremely dark and violent, but the movie is actually a bit light hearted. Earl and Zeke trying to cover their tracks is pretty fun. They seem normal, kind people outside of their personal hobby, and you actually sympathize with them. The acting and direction is very good. The last 30 minutes will seem to drag on forever though, because this small town Alabama police department is slow as fudge.
I'm too old to have cried as much as I did watching this movie. There is so much well written humor, but also well written introspective dialogue and subtlety for people who grew up with the series.
It is an excellent movie for adults, and the best film of the year in my opinion. Sure, it has the benefit of characters that have been fleshed out over the span of 3 movies, but it does something new and beautiful with them. You will see Woody's growth, and sympathize with him as you have never sympathized with him before. This has set a new, and frankly ridiculously high standard for animated sequels.

I definitely teared up during this uncharacteristically unsubtle British slice-of-life. The plight of the gig worker is very blatantly on display, and it will definitely make you feel the need to be extra nice to your next delivery person. But some things here have loose beginnings and ends, and some characters seem to still have their guard up. The mum and dad are acted very well, but they are written a bit TOO well. They say all their perfect lines, and don't derail despite the level of stress they're under, much like nice-for-TV people.
The Apple product placement is also very distracting and frankly at cross-purposes with the plot. I don't care if they got to have Apple phones, but did the dad have to get the protector that parades the logo around? I would think he doesn't care much about brand signalling. The mum doesn't even have a protector! This was the first time a product placement aggravated me, this was definitely the wrong movie for it.
Over all a decent flick, not exceeding expectations. Impactful but flawed.
