Whatever happend to British humor I wonder. The British are the ones that brought us Monthy Python, not-the-nine-oclok-news, Mr Bean, Blackadder, the young ones, Fry and Laurie, French and Saunders, Yes prime minister, the good life and many, many more... If this movie is what British humor is today it went all the way down, almost to the level of French "humor". If I look at best British humor, it is (with a few exceptions) all from before say 2005... So if you put this on for some good British humor you will be very disappointed. It never get's up to speed, it is never really funny and mostly predictable.

Don't wast your time.

Amazing how little attention this movie got/gets because it is really an excellent movie, a hidden gem. Beside that, it is well-done explainer for the end of the 2001 movie. Everything in this movie is very believable and evende Russians speak excellent Russian.

The only thing that you could say over 40y later, that the data on the screens looks outdated. With AI it should be possible to update the movie to give it a more modern look. Not to much, just the data/graphics on displays and maybe improve some some jupitershots would do it. And what is a pitty is that, contrary to the 2001 movie, now you have sound in space, when the engines fire...ah well...
