Easily the worst of the series. The whole movie is shot dark and washed-out, so that entire scenes feel like guesswork, since you can barely make out what is even happening on screen. The dialogue is cringeworthy, with characters spouting lines that offer no real personality, depth, or humor that actually works. The acting almost universally drags, and yes, Edward Furlong is in it, which only adds to the overall weirdness. In the end it is the same-old, same-old, just newer and worse.
Just simply horrible, and saddening because although the other entries were simple and stupid, they offered something. This lost everything and anything enjoyable about the previous movies. Cheap everything, bad CGI in parts, and porno-level acting. Not much enjoyable here, but at least it still employs buckets of blood.
Initially the cringeworthy dialogue and characters make you want to turn it off, but it's paired up against the entertaining and gory 'battle royale interrupted' story, barely making you stick with it. And it ends up being a good choice! Because even though this is all very dumb and cheap, and the characters are all beyond annoying, it has great pacing and entertaining twists, apart from the usual buckets of splatter. Henry Rollins is so, so bad, and that can be a plus or minus depending on how you see it. A great choice for your mindless-horror-drivel needs.
