The title of the film is pretty self explanatory, there's a murder clown in a cornfield, and pretty much something you would expect from it. It's what would happened if the 80s slashers happen in present days. It's silly, cheesy, somewhat bit gory, weirdly political and overall a bloody fun time. Surprisingly, the leads are likeable, it has a nice set up, very well paced. And the third act of this film really takes a nice turn.
I don't understand why this film has such bad ratings. You can not expect a Psycho-level horror from a film which title's so corny. It's a decent, and entertaining film.

I knew it's from a video game, had seen some people played it, and seen clips of it but never played it, so i'll judge it as it is.
Until Dawn feels like a compilations of what is wrongs with every sub-genres of horror films. None of the characters were likeable, stupid decisions were made, excruciatingly corny lines, cringe humor, these weird forced romances, and it happened over and over again.
The biggest problem for me is that the lack of chemistry between these casts, these people doesn't seem like they're 'friends'. Which makes it hard to care about if these characters survived or not.

The whole films feels like a desperate attempt to 'humanize' billion dollars company (yes i know it's released on Netflix, and it's their 'competition'. It's just their marketing tactics), while promoting over-consumerism in the process. The worse thing is, it's not even good lol. It's beyond mediocre. It's soulless, predictable, excruciatingly average, typical overtly dramatic holywood crap. This could've been a 1 hour shorter.
I don't see any reason why would they make a film that 'based on real life events' that just happened to be in one of the store of the most capitalist company other than the aforementioned.
