I just watched the first episode, and I'm glad they released three together so I still have two more to watch. The episode was fast-paced, and the comedy worked well. I was a bit hesitant at first, since they release a season every year and I thought the quality might drop, but this one was entertaining and engaging throughout.
For me, the real fun isn't about who died or solving the mystery. It's more about how they go about it in such an entertaining way. Still, since they never really kill off characters we care about, the mystery sometimes feels less intense. If the next season is the final one, I think they should take a bigger risk-maybe even kill off one of the three leads. That would make things far more interesting, with the villain now targeting the remaining two. If they stick with killing only side characters, maybe Howard could be next, and that could still work. But I do wonder how long it will stay exciting if we know the leads are always safe.
I'd also like to see more personal arcs-like exploring marriage for Mabel and Charles. It would be fun to watch all three solving a case while also dealing with their relationships. Last season, the best part was the cameos, even though they weren't used much. This season, they haven't leaned on that as much-only one cameo so far, the actor who played the politician.
Overall, the first episode was good, but the formula is starting to feel repetitive. The chemistry, comedy, and presentation are still working, but everything follows the same pattern each season. To break that monotony, I'd suggest either bringing in the leads' loved ones or taking a bold step like killing one of the three. Otherwise, if the plan is to keep going for 10 seasons, this approach might still hold up-though I think many viewers could lose interest unless something big changes in the next year or two.
Rating: 3.5/5.

Just watched the first episode of The Paper. I'll complain about the bad jokes later, but why did they use the theme music from the American The Office? Even without comparing it to The Office, it wasn't good or funny. I mean, that is in my top 10, while this will not even make my top 100. That's what she said.
I was expecting the episode to be in the 20-minute range, but it was over 30 minutes, which wouldn't have been a problem if it was funny throughout. It was longer than expected, which was a shock. That's what she said.
It felt like they just gathered all the information on how the paper industry works and showed it off, forgetting it was supposed to be a comedy show. And why is Oscar showing so much attitude? He was just a normal side character, and out of everyone, he's the one who returned. Now he's acting like he doesn't even want to be filmed. How does that make sense? If you don't want to do it, then don't come. That's what she said.
I liked Domhnall in The Patient and Sabrina in The White Lotus, so I was excited to see them here, but they can't do much if the writing isn't funny. Other than them, Ramona (Nicole) was a standout. The others were okay but never exciting. That's what she said.
To top it off, they're so confident they renewed it for a second season before even releasing the first episode. They're basically like, "Let's do it again. Maybe next time will be better." That's what she said.
In the American version of The Office, there was a very likeable boss, Michael, the annoying HR guy Toby, romantic tension between Jim and Pam, and the pranks Jim played on Dwight. All that stuff is still so memorable. Even after years, I'll never forget it. That's what she said.
Honestly, I want to watch the remaining episodes because of the strong cast, but I don't think I'll be able to because of the writing. They released the whole season on the same date to let people watch it all before judging. Still, getting through it all would be tough. That's what she said.
I'll be skipping it.

I just finished Season 1. Starting with the good parts, it was engaging throughout, which is impressive considering the episodes were almost an hour long even though there were only four. I always wanted to know what would happen next, what genre it was really going for, and where the story was heading. The cast did a great job, especially the two lead actresses.
In the first episode, a few scenes reminded me of The Maid. Then I thought it felt more like Sweet Pea. But as it went on, it took a bit of a different direction. Each episode ended in a way that made me curious about what was coming, which kept me hooked.
The thing with shows like this is that everything depends on the ending. Once everything is revealed, that's when you know if the whole journey was worth it. For me, the ending just wasn't satisfying. The characters' motives didn't make much sense, the final episode had a lot of predictable moments, and the parts that weren't predictable still didn't feel satisfying.
To be honest, it wasn't just the ending that made me want to rate this show so low. Throughout the show, it kept going in different directions, and even in the last episode I was asking myself which genre it actually was. I smiled after finding out the reason behind it and thought, "Is that it? All these things were happening just because of this?" It just didn't feel right for this type of show. I think if the final episode had been better, I probably would have rated it 6 or 7 and wanted a Season 2, but sadly, it didn't make it there.
