I hereby nominate Volodymyr Oleksandrovych Zelenskyy for "Man of the Century"!

I'm old. I'm cranky. I'm retired. I NEVER watch TV. Well, just once in a while. Right now I'm only following 489 shows on TVmaze.

I am very mysterious. I don't even know who I am really. If I told you I'd have to kill myself! Actually, I am a former musician in the U.S. as well as former CEI agent #014 (a.k.a. Bob the Late Night Courier Guy). If you don't know what that is, I can't tell you. Again, I'd have to kill myself. I can tell you this... "I've been everywhere man"... well, not really but, I did get around a little.

I can also tell you this... I'm OLD. We got our first tv when I was 3 and I've never looked back. 2 channels, b&w, blurry, snowy, static. We've come a long way baby. Try standing on one foot holding a piece of tin foil attached to antenna wire as high as you can out the top of a window with heavy snow falling in -20°F. and 45 mph winds for almost half an hour so your family can watch Groucho Marx on "You Bet Your Life". I gotta tell ya', that's when men were men and the sheep ran scared.

But enough about me, let's talk about me. I am retired now so I can devote the time it deserves to watching everything ever transmitted over the airwaves. TVmaze is fantastic for keeping track of what I've seen and what I want to see. Thank you to all the technical geniuses that keep things like this going. With the availability of torrents, streams, s/w like Kodi and Exodus, internet channels, etc. it's incredible the variety of programming you can find. It's been terrific to "discover" old series I missed while working during the pre-VCR/DVR days. Especially enjoyable are the foreign offerings from the Brits, Scots, Danes, Swedes, Aussies, Canucks and a whole lot more. I applaud cop shows that can solve a crime without killing and dismembering half the cast (well, "The Tunnel" and "The Bridge" were still excellent.) and blowing up several vehicles and a couple of buildings. It is sad though to see we aren't the only country with prejudices and discrimination. It regrettably seems to be getting worse by the day across the planet. For shame!

It's especially great to be able to get all this content these days rather than watching the abysmal behavior of purportedly "civilized" people in the news and on "reality" shows. It's hard to imagine that humanity may have reached it's peak amidst the generations spawned in the wake of two World Wars. I put a lot of hope in the youth of today but, alas, with the proliferation of atrocious, grievous hate-mongers as role models they will need extraordinary strength and courage to even attempt to right the ever increasing wrongs enveloping the world's societies. My thoughts and prayers are with future generations. Okay, I'm cautiously pessimistic... so sue me! Hey, it's the 'merican way.

I know, not a bio. Mostly an op/ed piece. I am a Patriots fan and NO! Deflategate was NOT real! FUNFL! Yes, the WhoDats got robbed! (2019)

If I think of anything interesting to add (doubtful) or feel a rant coming on I'll come back and embellish a little.

Bob on the couch (a.k.a. Bob the former Late Night Courier Guy)

ALL LIVES MATTER! I don't say that to denigrate "Black Lives Matter". I believe united we stand. Black, brown, red, yellow, white... We're all of one race: HUMAN.

It is VERY discouraging to hear now, people that really DON'T believe all lives matter are saying "all lives matter" to defend their abhorrent behavior. Don't say "all lives matter" if you don't believe all lives matter. And, if you believe all lives matter, ACT like it... because they really do!!! (Yeah, even hateful dumbasses that have no respect for others.)

  • Yeah, not so much

First, I really thought I would like this show. Then, I really wanted to. I've watched a dozen episodes. It took a while for me to get back to it after taking a break. In the interim I was thinking how they struggle to make an hour out of each episode. Getting back to #12, I still thought the same thing.

While I get what they're doing, I don't feel this show is very compelling. I kind of can't wait for the end of each one. They start out slow and then, about half way through, it becomes so apparent you can write your own ending.

Now I realize the high ratings must be because it's captured the imagination of fans of this particular genre. That's fine but, I'd be more entertained by old reruns of The Twilight Zone, Night Gallery, Alfred Hitchcock or even Outer Limits (as hokey and low budget as it may have been). I just don't think Black Mirror holds up.

Addendum: The way I rate shows... I don't usually review anything less than a 7 because 6 would be a failing grade and I won't waste my time watching it. I'm old; I don't know how much time I've got left. Since I probably turned it off before getting even halfway through, it wouldn't be fair to rate or review it. It might not have been bad, maybe it just didn't interest me.

7 is watchable but I may go a while between episodes since, though somewhat entertaining, there are other shows more interesting or compelling.

8 would be a regular in my lineup.

9 is a must see and bingeable.

10 is just the epitome of superbity and headed for my all-time favorites list.

I'm adding this to my reviews because it seems there are a lot of binary reactions to pretty much everything these days. I am not a like/unlike kind of guy. I see a lot of grays so, if I give something a 10 it doesn't mean the only alternative is a 1.

  • It's criminal

I think it's criminal to not have this final episode available anywhere! This was a good show and it's hard enough to find the first eleven episodes. Many thanks to whomever converted the VHS tapes to AVI and uploaded them to wherever they uploaded them (legally I'm sure... let's don't get the MPAA involved here). It's even worse that the episode never aired! Shame on FOX!!! As if they don't have enough to be ashamed of.

  • This was a good show

Like ramirez_aj, I had trouble finding it on any streaming or download services. I managed to get some episodes years ago when I had Graboid, but not all of them and since they were transferred from VHS, the ones I got weren't in the greatest shape. I tried recently (2025) to search for a torrent and one shows up on a jolly roger site but, nothing downloads. I'd love to find the whole series. Unfortunately, the final episode may not even exist. I'll keep looking every now and then because, as I recall, it was a good show worth the watch.
