I persisted through 4 episodes before finally throwing in the towel. So many plot holes, obvious procedural and logical errors. The acting is lacklustre and the script very average at best. I love so very much of Australian drama but this is not a great example. Life is too short for six episodes of plot and dialogue that you can see coming well before it gets there, and well AFTER its use-by date.

Having been down the cancer chasm and also having live at the Indian/european interface , as well as having a deep appreciation of the art involved I'm at a privileged position to enjoy the great deal this film has to offer and the performances by the lead 3 are terrific. Persistence is well rewarded here with gentle insights, subtlety, and a triumph of reality over Hollywood. David Wenham is a world away from Seachange and Jackie McKenzie has came much further than this movie shows since "Romper Stomper" with Russell. It is also a healthy reminder that sometimes real relationships do TAKE TIME!

I somehow managed to stick with this to the end but my strong recommendation is don't even start - a vaguely promising if implausible start wallows and meanders while it tries to drcide what sort of movie it's going to be, without ever coming close to an answer. Performances are stereotypical but adequate on the whole. Kevin Bacon appears for about 5 minutes all up and plays one of the more consistent characters. I hope he was paid well to have this blot on his résumé', and Julia Roberts can dance - wasn't expecting that. Nice location. Kids performances are totally stereotyped.

All up - invest your precious time in something more worthwhile.
