  • slow and booooring

This movie started out pretty good but got progressively worse as it went on. The main character who also narrates the movie has the charisma of a soggy potato and his narration is slow and boring and could put a raging meth head to sleep.

We follow this dull boring chap through his daily perverted life as a night shift worker at sainsbury's where he fantasizes about freezing time and stripping random female shoppers and drawing them and then dressing them up again without them knowing.....what a nice normal guy to root for..... i've seen reviews claiming its a product of its time and its artistic but its not at all. I grew up during this time and even back then this movie is still perverted and creepy the kid is a straight up obsessive degenerate who excuses his action/fantasies because he's an "artist" of course this movie has no real purpose other than to flash naked women throughout rip ideas from other movies like fight club and come up wit a crappy predictable ending where of course everything just so happens to go his way even though he's a deplorable little git.

Granted there are some funny bits but overall it's still a crap movie. It tries to be clever and endeering but it fails massively and just come off as a crap comedy with loads of boob shots. The lead just comes off as a strange little pervert. The other characters are odd as well but are far more interesting and likable than the lead which ruins the whole dynamic.

I honestly would have enjoyed this movie at 15 and that's solely because of the nudity in it but even then i still would have found it rather boring.

  • très bon

Saw clips of this on one of my social feeds recently and thought i'd give it a watch and honestly for a netflix special it's pretty good at first i thought it was gonna be a very trashy low budget cgi fest horror with terrible acting but after the first few episodes i was hooked.

I love horrors and i noticed this had quite a few homages from other horrors thrown in which was great to see.there's definitely homages from the exorcist, misery, hereditary, the visit and Im pretty there was one from the exorcist 3 movie with the nurse station scene where she runs up behind man and in this case it was tonio on the docks being attacked.

The visuals in this were fantastic. Lots of subliminal frames added in every so often to ramp up the tension and uneasiness of tsome if the he scenes and the supernatural parts were very well done and did not overdo it wit the cgi/special effects. It was the perfect mix cgi and practical effects that paid off brilliantly. Unfortunately there are alot jumpscares in this which i think really does ruin it abit as they show in a lot of senses jumpscares are not needed.

The first few episodes in this were very tight and all flowed very nicely but in the middle it began to lag a bit. Some scenes were very badly done to the point of being laughable and but it did pick again quite quickly

the only real gripe i had with series was the way the characters act at some points. They seem hysterical when nothing is really going on but when things happen they act like its no big deal ...for instance...one guy loses something seriously important to him and his family but instead of him being absolutely distraught about it like any man would and being in pieces he just brings it up in conversation every so often like he's lost his car keys and just has to keep reminding people about it in case they forgot which they honestly act like they do . Also, all the characters in this are supposed to be in their 30s but are written like teenagers. It being its a netflix special though i'm guessing the original script might have been tweaked to cater for a teen audience.

Overall its a very good horror show. It being french isn't a problem as it translates over pretty well. Id suggest french audio with subs but each to their own. This show does have its moments of being a bit stupid here and there and some things don't always fall into place or make logical sense but the production is very well done and far superior compared to other horror series out there. The horror is consistent throughout most of the episodes meaning you don't get them annoying filler episodes where nothing happens the whole way through but talking until the very last 30 second of the episode where they dump something seriously interesting to make you watch the next one.

    Definitely worth a watch and a solid.8/10.

  • worse than jakies recorder/flute playing

Bagman is a movie about an entity that lives in a small towns abandoned mine and for a living he sometimes kidnaps kids and sticks them in his bag for some reason and they are never to be seen again.what does he do with them ?? Who knows, i guess he nibbles on them or something. The bagman unlike the old folklore sackman he is based on he doesn't steal bad little children, he only steals good little kids or "the shiny ones" as the dad creeperly puts it because he's extra mean which he isn't really because he is the most pathetic horror entity to ever have existed.

Without the horror aspect this movie would make a killer cheesy 90s hallmark movie. It's set in a small rural town where everybody wears brand new carhartt clothing and everybody is melodramatic even when just casually talking. Its more of a soap opera than horror. What i found amazing was how the police are portrayed in this movie. Instead of being extremely racist small town rednecks who are useless at their jobs unless it comes to setting up black people. They are shown to be the complete opposite even if it is to the extreme. I mean, They get called about a possible intruder on our leads property and the they turn up 50 deep and set up a full forensic teams surrounding the area and even have policemen on the roof looking for clues ...now that's some grade A service right there.it's nice to see the police not getting bashed and made to look incompetent in a movie for a change which has been done a lot these last few years

There's really not much to this movie. Its plot is very basic and it's definitely a paint by numbers kinda "horror" and clearly aimed at the the younger crowd who suffer with extremely short attention spans. I only say this because there's points in this movie it gives a quick flashback to the audience explaining something that happened only 5 mins before to make sure they keep up and in a movie like this where it's super simple follow its kind of an insult to the audience

This movie is not well written and some of the dialogue and story is so awful it makes you cringe. The two main characters are supposed to be so loved up but they come across as very distant and have absolutely no chemistry together on screen. Our lead is supposed to shown as a loving partner and dad but instead comes across as seriously under the thumb man who works full time but also has to deal with the kid and all household chores while his wife is nowhere to be seen. He's supposed to be broke after taking out huge loans and all hope is lost when his terrible tree cutting invention (that would never work by the way) failed so now he's even more broke but he's able to put in a full alarm system in his house without question and then pay a shrink to go over stuff he already knows but for some reason can't explain to his loving wife who is supposed to be infatuated with him by the way because he's worried she will tell him off. And be mad at him..which she does and is... the best one was the irish dad telling his son about the bagman lore and how he's lived in that mine for centuries and saying his dad told him the lore and his grandad told his dad and his great grandad told his grandad and so on but the thing is if his family had lived in that area for centuries and all worked in family business and passed down that same story to their sons where did the dad pick up a thick irish accent??

Everything about this is bad, the acting, the plot and the ending which is just awful by the way it really wasn't thought out as much as it should have been and rye results show for themselves. Even if its aimed at young teens i doubt they will find it scary in the slightest.
