Had high hopes thinking this would be good with Comer and Butler together with Hardy, Shannon and Reedus but NOPE! In 54 years I have NEVER walked out of a movie until today. No story, no character development, just plain dull. Who green-lighted this picture with bad editing and weak script? Always love Comer but her accent was horrible and Butler seemed to just stand and try to look cool instead of acting. Reedus and the fake teeth prosthetic and wig made him look as if they aged him and he walked off the Walking Dead set. Hardy was just blah with a character that was as dull as watching paint dry on a hot summer day. Shannon's character is easily forgotten because it was that bad. Don't waste time or money!.
One of the best reasons I enjoyed this film is that it wasn't the stupid icky gorey death scenes. It was truly creepy and scary and there were no lulls during the film where nothing was happening. Perfectly paced with lots of jump scares. The film left me satisfied however, I do hope they don't ruin this film's greatness with a sequel. This goes down as one of my favorite scary movies (after the first Scream, first Halloween, and Poltergeist). Plus when Stephen King endorses it as the scariest you need to check it out for sure! This time he wasn't lying!!! The acting was good too. Only reason not giving it a 10 is because we found ourselves asking "where is the father?" a lot. He should have been given more interactive scenes.
