This script didn't leave much for Bassett to work with... and why such a short scene for the Rhona Mitra? She was great as Major Dalton in the Bassett-directed epic series, Strikeback. Perhaps Mitra owed Bassett a favor and agreed to a quick appearance? She and Bassett were the main reasons I watched this movie.
Others have covered the many story shortcomings and flaws - my question is a simple one... when will Hollywood start casting actors that look like the comic book characters instead of waif models?

I grew up in Northern California. I've watched these groups destroy property, vandalize buildings, physically hurt and bully people for years. Crime is plenty high in the western US. Hollywood thinks the public wants to defund police and glamorize "protestors" and revolutionaries running in the streets burning businesses.
The subject is only part of the problem... the running length is almost 3 hours. Oppenheimer 3 hours? Yes. A movie about burnouts trying to relive the glory days of protesting? Maybe 90 minutes.
Hollywood has no clue what hard-working, tax paying citizens want to see.... and the people that actually do want to see it will sneak into the theater rather than give any money to a faceless corporation like Regal or AMC.
Great actors (+2) and competent directing (+1) but the writing seems all over the place.

No spoilers. In my mind Season 4 has always been the best in the series... this season might be better (depending on the finale). Everything this season has been firing on all cylinders. Nothing felt like filler - I've felt invested in every minute of each episode. All of the actors have been great (some are annoying, but so is real life). Every one is compelling, interesting to watch and move the story forward - there are no superfluous characters or boring exposition. The writers have taken all the snacks we love about the show and made a viewer buffet! This is great viewing.
