Murder UK sets out with a promising concept - a true-crime series where criminologist David Wilson examines real British murder cases through a psychological and forensic lens. On paper, it's a welcome alternative to the usual sensationalist fare, aiming to be more analytical and educational.
In practice, though, the show feels disappointingly one-dimensional. Almost every episode circles back to coercive control as the central theme, to the point where it starts to feel repetitive. There's little exploration beyond that single behavioural pattern, and the emotional depth - the human side of these stories - rarely breaks through the procedural tone.
David Wilson himself seems like a genuinely kind and empathetic man, but the analysis often feels surface-level. You don't need a criminology degree to understand most of what's being said - the insights could easily come from an observant viewer rather than an academic expert.
Visually and structurally, the show is competent but never quite gripping. It's more textbook lecture than true-crime drama, which might appeal to some but leaves others craving more depth and variety.
A solid concept, a sincere host, but an execution that leans too heavily on one note.

The episodes are way too long and everything is so dragged out and they keep repeating the same things over and over and over again. The presenters are almost all old. I do like Keith but he's a fossil. Andrea Canning has an irritant voice. She should retire and focus on her 234 children.
Also for some reason the video quality is inferior. It looks like something from the eighties. It's also too lengthy, digging up pasts of people, telling boring storylines. Everything could be told or shown in half the time. And what secrets are uncovered?
So I think it's time for an overhaul. New, younger and fresher presenters and more concise story telling.
