My friends and I went to a theater in downtown Salt Lake City to see this and all thought it was a terrific horror. It was a long time ago but I think an amputated hand was a cause of bad luck. When I moved to where I live now we found the lower leg of a horse or a donkey. It reminded me of the monkey's paw but I thought it was grotesque and that it was a good idea not to be superstitious. After a few years I had a series of heart attacks and had ro be hospitalized for approximately a month. I've never felt such pain and consider the monkey paw might be a graven image or be the carrier of a tropical disease.
Roosevelt Junior High in Salt Lake City, Utah had a lot of fights. In 8th Grade I was walking there and a small gang walked up to me and the leader, Jack Loveless, said, "let's fight". The gang was 4 or 5 people and I hit Jack on the Ileft cheek. I hit him for as long as possible and a gang member said, "if you win we're going to kill you". I turned and continued down the alley towards the school and one of the gang hit me on the nose from behind. Led Zeppelin has a song that says, *the heart of the gods got a punch on the nose - I. Think I might be sickened*. I think they refer to me because Top Jimmy or Top Jimmy Page are my stage name. After that I had to take Karate lessons and defend myself.
This movie is totally animations & the soundtrack to Heavy Metal is a genre of hard rock that is similar to punk rock. I had an audience with a band in the San Francisco Bay Area in about 1981. When I got home to Salt Lake City I was surprised to see Brad Collins was the owner/operator of a record store; Positively 4th Street. Phil Collins sounds very sinister on his smash hit, *Coming in the Air Tonight". I sang for the Heavy Metal band Jynx in Burlingame, California and in the evening afterwords at Folsom Studio. They drove off without me, late at night, and a Professional Band nearby probably inspired great things like MTV.
