This film belies its meager production outlay, in the telling of a story, the visual augmentation of the story, and the flow and vibe of the whole thing! Mr Rush and Mr Lithgow, not to mention most of the supporting cast, dug in and have us a great one! I don't want to offer any spoiler fodder, so just trust me when I say-if you're a fan of original suspense-give this film a look. Most of you will be glad you did!
I found some of these stories fascinating, and the episodes generally well produced. I do have a couple of critiques:
Some of the editing is needlessly distracting, where you have several different people intercut, relating the same anecdote. I'd much rather be able to hear one person's take, then move on to others'. I know it's an attempt to be artful in the filmmaking, but it hurts the flow of the stories.
One of the commentators, Scaachi Koul, I found to be annoying in that she repeatedly made racist comments about white people. I realize that it has become en vogue to white-bash, particularly among people who imagine themselves somehow victims, but we're all getting tired of the hatefulness and false narratives.
Anyway, apart from those things, the show had some great information and gripping stories.
