I have to laugh at the reviews saying the gloves are off because DJT had Colbert canceled. I use to watch him in the beginning when he was slightly humorous, but since 2016 Colbert started only to.cater to the far left Democrats with slanderous lies night after night which alienated over half the population. I'm an independent and broad minded, and coming from the Johnny Carson era Colbert was so biased that his show just wasn't funny any longer. If Colbert didn't have Trump to use as a punching bag, he and a lot of the other late night cronies wouldn't have shows. The amount of money CBS paid this dismal show was ridiculous, including 20 million yearly to its failing host. Colbert cannot blame anyone but himself for failing ratings, but he doesn't consider it his own fault which will continue his downfall. I think the other late night hosts and a few daytime shows better look inward and ask themselves if it's worth losing their jobs because they are all equally bad. Political humor is only funny when it hits both sides.
Robert DeNiro no longer has the star power that he used to have, and playing dual roles is twice as bad. It was so boring I can't believe I actually made it to the end, but I really didn't have anything else to do, and just hoped it was going to get better...nope! Debra Messing is another actor that I just can't get behind, and should just stick with comedy(if that's what you call it). The whole gangster genre was good for a short period with the Sopranos, the Godfather, etc. But this one doesn't even come close to being enjoyable. My brother dragged me to see this crap, and now he owes me a big expensive dinner to make up for the damages!
I liked the original, and I was hoping this would come somewhat close, but this was just lousy. I love Cathrine O'Hara, and she was the only reason I watched the entire movie. I mean to wait all these years for a sequel, only to be nearly put to sleep is not my idea of a good sequel. Keaton was terrible, but Rider and O'Hara for the most part were pretty decent. I'm surprised the director put this out, considering the original was so good, but it just seems like sequels anymore don't live up to the originals. Top Gun, Jaws, Die Hard had excellent sequels, and I continue to rewatch those, but this I won't watch a second time!
