It's shocking that this got made, and managed to get a half decent cast. There's literally nothing redeeming about it. The most hilarious part of reading reviews on here (other than the trolling ones) are the ones where people are legitimately saying there's some deep message to this movie.
The dialogue is painful, the actors seem lost, and the effects are absolutely awful. It's not even a case where you can watch it from a "so bad it's good" perspective because every aspect of it is so completely annoying. Nothing in the movie makes any sense to the point where it's just anger inducing. And you can't watch it as "eye candy/a popcorn" flick because the special effects are absolutely awful.
I can honestly say this is the worse movie I've ever seen. And I actually enjoy watching some bad movies for fun.

I'm not really sure how I missed this movie when it first came out. It showed up on Prime though, and I randomly put it on. While I'd agree with some reviews saying it's a bit rushed and unfocused at times, I think it deserves a slightly higher rating than it has here. It's a crazy mix of genres of everything from action to horror that generally works. And it did all tie together for a great ending in my opinion. I'm not sure what else to really compare it to, but it did have some elements of Frighteners to it. If you like a light hearted quirky horror/supernatural movie, you might like dig it.
Season 1 was great. Season 2 has been a bit inconsistent, but still miles above the quality of Discovery. There are actually likable characters, and a focus on all of the characters rather than everything mainly revolving around one (awful) character like in Discovery. I hope it can keep up, but season two has faded a bit. I'm still enjoying watching it and keeping my hopes up though.
In my mind, 7 out of 10 is a "very good" rating. Giving this an 8-10 rating is a stretch in my opinion. That would put it along side some of the best sci-fi shows ever, and it's not that. But compared to other recent Star Trek shows? It's an 11.
