To make it onto THIS list, the movie/show has to withdraw "a scream". Therefore they will exclude factors of budget, year made, repeat durability, etc and of course all zombie subgenre. (Deserves its own list). Merits soley rest on all components of the film working together. Elements such as plot, pace, character, story, etc woven together to create enough of a natural ambience, (exclusive of empathy to protangisnist though that does add merit to overall prominence,) to elicit alarm/jolted response.

 Partner doesn't like me watching horror.  In fact NO ONE likes me watching anything "scary".  However, I adore it! Wide eyed, twitchy limbed, bitter taste, thready bass of pulse in my ears and then- Oops! Neighbors called the police again. My partner fall off his chair.  And I'm alive, laughing, kicking and breathing and STILL wanting more. What can I say. All those near death experiences growing up?  But can't be any horror. Nope. Blame (or thank) my cousins as we watched Stephen Kings "It" when I was eight. Hitchcocks "Birds" when I was  ten. McTiernan's 1987 "Predator" at the same age did nothing. I, in fact found the action boring in comparison. 

Slow burn, action packed, mystery, jump scare, trope driven- I'll watch it and never request a refund. Even the terrible... dreadful ones... soo, sooo bad that they actually become- good? (A.k.a. Killer Klowns from Outer Space, Evil Dead series film series, movies commented on/by Mystery Science Theater 3000, etc how did that work?!) 

Eventually will create an Apocalypse List once finished compiling and writing final reviews.

Zombie subgenre in all its glory. True art that will provoke subtle thoughts to shamble up with deadly grace at 3am until you're tangled deeper into metaphysics than your blanket... or just films/tv that had superb "shiny" special-effects that all zombie fans adore. Bring on the tidal waves of gnashing teeth-corpses!
