After the Acolyte I wasn't sure about giving this a try but wow I'm glad I did. I've only viewed the first episode so far and have come here to write something positive before I start episode 2.
This is really fun. I liked it from the first few minutes and it just has a feel good feeling to it. It reminded me of my youth watching ET and the Goonies in the 80's. I'm not going to write any spoilers but if you're unsure about giving this a go and you come across this review then I highly recommend you watch it. For sure you will dive straight into episode 2.
I can tell this is going to be a good adventure story but what I love is that it's not at all preachy or political. I think this is going to be a Disney hit. It's going to bring the magic back to Star Wars and leave fans wanting for more. After only one episode I know that this will get strong viewing, strong reviews and will definitely get a second season.
This is the sort of viewing fans want. Thank god the Acolyte was cancelled as that was an abomination of bad script, plot holes and policital preachiness. This is just good old fashioned fun that kids and adults alike will love. It's family entertainment and can be enjoyed by the whole family. It's not trying to reinvent the wheel.

As with many movies you do question some of the characters choices but I enjoyed this movie and it certainly isn't a bad film. I wasn't expecting the twist when it came.
It's about a broken family where two parents unexpectedly have to work together to cover up an accident for the love of their daughter.
You learn more about the daughters character to the point where the mother admits to the doting father than there might be something wrong with their daughter. It would take longer for that realisation to set in with the father but none of it deters either parent from going to any lengths to cover for the daughter.
I wouldn't characterise this film as a slow burner. The first few minutes throws you in at the deep end and then you're along for the ride. Good suspense film that sends your mind in one direction then the next.
