This film just doesn't work. You know, it's like sometimes when you are making a cake and you have all the ingredients but it turns out like s*it. It is beautifully shot, there are some jump scares, some gore but it feels hollow and just doesn't have any charm. The story barely exists, the tension is not created successfully and the script is lazy written.

When I see a horror movie rated around 5, I usually assume it's actually worse and deserves a 3, so I wasn't in a rush to watch Vicious. But the film hooked me from the very first second and didn't let go until the end.

I'm surprised that some reviewers said they got tired waiting for something to happen, because if you ask me - something is happening the entire time. The tension and suspense never let up for even a moment.

With this film, Dakota Fanning redeemed herself for the mediocre The Watchers. Although it remains a mystery why everything is happening to the main character, I don't think that really matters - Vicious delivers everything a true horror fan wants: tension, mystery, and a touch of brutal, bloody scenes.

When the film maker doesn't know how to connect all the dots in the story, he pretends that he wanted it this way. This is one of these movies. There is something going on, some kind of curse, some kind of possession but we really don't know why or by whom. And sometimes is more exciting not to know everything, that way film lingers longer in our minds, but I don't think this was the case. I liked the last part of the story best. 1978 atmosphere was well created.
