I am seriously confused as to why this movie is not doing well. Why is nobody seeing it??? I had zero clue who he was but decided why not, let's go see this monkey movie. I checked my ego at the door and went along with the ride, and boy was it a ride. At its core this is a movie about mental health, never pulling any punches, and giving the viewers complete transparency on his journey. This has the good to great, the bad to worse, and the ugly to "I can't even look myself in the mirror'. An overall inspiring story about the battle we all have within ourselves to be the person we are meant to be and though his life is incredible and wildly famous, I found it to be very relatable. See this movie and let it move you.
This isn't some jam down your throat gay movie. It's a movie with characters that happen to be gay. As someone who typically gets annoyed by movies that attempt this over the last decade now, I would say it wasn't overwhelming or assertive at all. Straight forward plot, but never getting too predictable. It does a wonderful job of showing fresh exciting love being deconstructed by the realities of life very well.
It was also the perfect length. It never feels like it's dragging on or being rushed.
Acting was above average for today's standards. Nobodies acting got in the way of the plot. Overall decent way to spend an early afternoon.
Expect of heavy sex scenes in the first third or so btw.

This is one of the best medium budget comedies to come out of the 2010s. A true lost art of a genre. You get nostalgia, tons of politically incorrect jokes and situations, and of course boobs. It's masterfully goofy. Don't misunderstand what I say. It's not a quality film, but it is entertaining as hell.
Really hits the nail on the head with pointless movies strictly for fun and laughter.
Not really sure what else to say, but this is one of those movies that I could come across on tv in the middle of it, and gladly sit through all the commercials to finish it, then watch just the first half right after because it's on again at 1:30am.
