The new Naked Gun isn't a bad film, but I found it underwhelming. It starts off strong, but the laughs taper off as it goes on. While it's a cut above many modern comedies, it struggles to measure up to the original films - a comparison that's hard not to make. Liam Neeson feels miscast; he leans too far into the silliness, when playing it straighter might have made his performance funnier. All in all, it's watchable, but not something I'd pay to see.
I was under the impression this was supposed to be a classic of the comedy genre. Unfortunately Superbad is an overrated, juvenile mess that mistakes crude, unfunny antics for comedy. The so-called humor relies on tired, immature jokes that quickly become grating. Jonah Hill and Michael Cera struggle through a paper-thin plot driven by awkwardness rather than wit. Seth Rogen, as both co-writer and a bumbling cop, embodies the worst of his lazy, stoner persona, contributing nothing of value. The film lacks clever writing, depth, or originality, making it an exhausting watch. Its cult status is baffling, given how utterly devoid it is of genuine laughs or charm.
This is the Amazon version of Squid Games, in which people in desperate circumstances compete for a cash prize for the entertainment of a wealthy elite. Squid Games is fictional. This is real. The show takes a load of people, 99.9% of whom will not win the cash prize, and pits them against each other for the entertainment of the audience.
Mr Beast has built his career on this sort of exploitation. Why anyone is still watching his content, I do not know. He surrounds himself with dodgy people.
I could go into further detail but I don't see the point other than meeting the minimum character requirement for this review.
This is absolute trash!
