1890's with a great cast, setting, costumes, music and journey that creates the world before our very eyes. The accents are well established (thank you) and the pace is neither too slow nor too rushed. Contributes the wisdom of "'where does the money come and go from" (thank you) ...and how the times are changing as less than 30 years forward and the world will be into the roaring 1920s.
Thank you Lena Dunham. Thank you actors all, and editors, cinematographer/camera persons and costumers and caterers. Thank you for the truth that underlies this fractured fairy tale. You're helping pull the human race back from medieval oppressing / and being oppressed one humorous gasp at a time. Your abilities to create have made the world a better place. Huzzah!! Bravo!
Hello Viewers -- Stick with it. Yes, the first season was somewhat ""off Broadway'". But the second season the cast and production team matured G-REAT-LY and this along with our insight into Cecil and Bella's extended family merges. The cinematography, scenery and lighting are remarkably beautiful - watch on a big screen if you're able. The research of the black-shirt era in Italy in the Art-Deco era of the 1920's is absorbing and has not been done multiple times as with other historical fiction dramas, which are set between WW I and WW II.
--That said, still love you Poirot/Anthony Horowitz, you showed us how it's done. We hope Hotel Portofino get the green light for six seasons...then maybe a movie?
