Had to install a VPN to be able to buy it on some American Google-store, because for whatever reason this film doesn't have a European distribution. Anyhow: Really liked it. Very competent, good acting, good photography, good direction. Overall a really good film - nothing less, nothing more.
Even though the film is slow and some of the characters are one-dimensional clichés, I was still quite touched by it. Mostly because the dialogues are well written and the acting is top-notch. Good photography and soundtrack also helps.
...and in my opinion up there with the greats (Sopranos, The Wire etc.).
Patriot is basically a mix of Fargo, a Wes Anderson-film and a 70s-spy thriller. It's certainly not for everyone, as it has a very cinematic feel and can feel slow at times, but if you like the above-mentioned films, you will most certainly like this show. Can't wait for season two.
