Very poor comedy of intrigue, with COVID in the middle. A motley group of guests, staying in a small provincial hotel, is surprised by the quarantine decreed as a result of the covid pandemic. A local legend about an old treasure creates the plot for the supposed comic situations that fail to capture the viewer's attention. Laziness in a weak script and consequently in the performances. A hopeful start gives way to an astonishing slowness with unconnected scenes with pathetic main characters and other secondary characters that appear intermittently without contributing anything to the story. Expendable consumable.
If there were over 600 cases in the USA and Tootsie was released, the film takes place in December 1982. Despite its name, it was not yet called AIDS. The first name given to it is "Gay Cancer", or "Gay syndrome"; It was also called "Pink Plague", "Gay Plague". The character is overacted; he seems to be making gags all the time, as if performing monologues in real, ordinary life. The artist was certainly more like any ordinary citizen, at least in his daily routines. In ancient Rome, Cicero did not recite when he went to the toilet. On the other hand, there is nothing to object to Hurt, who as always is impeccable.
