So this snooze fest of a movie has three start in it: Sean Penn, Leonardo DiCaprio and Benicio Del Toro. And then it has a bunch of unknowns. With one single exception none of them had any interesting roles whatsoever. Apart maybe from Sean Penn.

It is long and it is boring and the characters of Leonardo DiCaprio and Benicio Del Toro are utterly idiotic.

Stay away from it!

We browsed through Netflix yesterday and quite quickly my girlfriend's wishes fell on this one. I naturally obliged and we started watching. "What horrible characters" I was thinking to myself. "Such utter nonsense" I was thinking to myself. "Does women really like this?" I was thinking to myself. It turned out they don't because soon my girlfriend asked me if we can please watch something else. "Why?" I asked. She then replied that the characters are horrible, the acting sucks and the whole thing is utter nonsense. Apparently neither women nor men like bad acting, nor complete and utter rubbish.

We ended up watching something about Charlie Sheen instead. It wasn´t terribly interesting either, but at least his cocaine riddled tales made more sense than Diary of a Ditched Girl.

This is a really good movie, with a fresh and novel idea. It really gave me a small glimmer of hope for the movie industry. It is full of suspense from start to finish and the acting from everyone involved is absolutely top notch. A big shout-out to Amy Madigan who plays a more than average scary character, with the utmost finesse. I would have enjoyed more gore and a bit darker story, but I happily take what I can get.

As written in the title: My Garmin clearly showed, afterwards, that I had been thrilled by this thriller/horror. I strongly recommend this one and I am hoping that we do not have to wait another five years or so before another good thriller/horror comes along. Please do not make a sequel, instead sit down and come up with another novel idea!!
