It may look like a corny lifestyle thriller but it most definitely isnt. I put this on to fall asleep to, but I watched it and now I'm still awake writing this to urge people to not miss this gem.
It was awkward and frustrating to watch these characters until I realized what was happening. It had my full attention.
It's a dark comedy and it is really well done. As a contractor myself I was very angry at both of em but it clicked.
This is one I will remember.
Nothing overly complicated, pretty straight forward but you really feel for the characters. The actors did a great job.
Don't overlook this one.

Really bad script, terrible dialoque.
What should we expect fron the director of Paul blart.
It's a pity because it maybe had potential. After what is the most annoying 30 mins of character development with the worst people the terror begins and it seems cool. But then dumb moments of dialogue by utter stupid characters destroys any sense of fear or anticipation for the watcher.
One character talks to someone in a car 200ft away while it's driving towards him. Characters change demeanor based on what the script wants them to do.
You learn nothing of the red herrings left out throughout the film.( no spoiler but, the name of the camper, the books, the tattoo the other characters we meet early on) It's just stuff thrown on more stuff with no plan.
I stuck with it and even the ending was a waste. Any cool horror is never revealed explained and if it is then it's just arbitrary. I am actually annoyed at this movie.
This director needs to do better. Seriously dude you are in a position to make films and you choose to make trash like this. You are what's wrong with the film industry, flooding our world with tripe.

Imagine if A24 and a good director was involved this would have been great.
Bad acting, terrible dialoque, it's meh, until the therapist gets there about halfway through and it changes genre and pace and goes full tilt. Still bad acting but it's quirky and cheeky good humor comes out of nowhere.
The sister character becomes the best thing in it. In fact both daughters are the better performers. The visuals of the second half reminded me of hellraiser 2 and bill and Ted's bogus journey when they go to hell.
It feels like a badly acted lifetime movie until it switches and then it gets good. Cool creatures for a low budget. Its a familiar but different story. Give It a chance if you like the cooky horror. It had me smiling all through the second half. Good ending too.
