Show is like an advertisement campaign for Grey Goose. I quit cigarettes a long time ago so I couldn't tell you what lady cigarettes they are smoking. Sure is slow. Have come to episode 4 and I am just not enamored. Seem like very young mothers. I am reminded of my almost annual vacations to Florida. Balmy where they are? But isn't it NY? Oh, Long Island. I lived there as a young middle classed boy. These people though are rich and it certainly isn't the 60's. Info on the phones is real hidden away and how controversial is a kid selling weed? My God. Pretty people but not very in touch with reality to me.
The parallels to our current situation in America are amazing and helpful tothis amateurkind of movie. I found the costuming pretty far off, more like a commentary on the times than realistic. I haven't even finished watching but some things are of interest. A prophet speaks to them. As a spiritual aspirant I find that very interesting. A corollary that comes to mind are the stories of the Baal Shem-Tov, at least insofar as a prophet speaking to people. There's a magic about prophets and Gurus and the stories of their miracles and their teachings that I wish movie makers would take more of an interest in.
I think The Gale Storm show was in repeats when I got to see it. I was born in 1953 and I remember seeing it and My Little Margie. I adored the female characters in both, but I was just 7 years old as I recall. Maybe I saw some at 6. Anyway, I loved the shows, but I don't recall much about them. So, I didn't know Gale Storm had anything to do with ships. Dear memories of youth. Ann Sothern was another.
