A Tilda Swap

Dawn at Kitty Rose Cottage recently organised a
Favourite Tilda Fat Quarter Swap. We each sent her a fat quarter
of our favourite Tilda fabric which Dawn then forwarded
to a mystery partner who then made a swap gift using that fat quarter.
We could also add extra fabric to what we were making.
This is the fabric my partner Kerry sent. Isn't it gorgeous!
It was from the Bumblebee range.
Straight away I knew I wanted to make her Gail Pan's
"Happily Ever After Sewing Bag" from her book
Patchwork Loves Embroidery.

Instead of using Gail's stitchery, I did Kerry's initial using
the "Stitcher's Alphabet" by Michelle Ridgeway.

I remembered I had these cute little heart charms so added one.
Kerry loved her bag!

This was my fat quarter that was sent to Julie (it was not a direct swap).
It is from the Tilda Old Rose range.
The colour is more like this than the photos below.

I received a lovely project pouch from Julie.
It has a plastic front so you can easily see what's inside.

With the scraps, Julie made me a luggage tag.
This is perfect as Noel and I are heading to Scotland later in the year!

Across The Ditch Tilda Swap (Part 2)

Now to share what I made for Julie.
I used Tilda Old Rose fabric range as at one time
she had mentioned it was a favourite.
First up is this sewing bag.
The pattern was from Gail Pan's Patchwork Loves Embroidery.

Matching sewing accessories.

I added some extra Aussie goodies too.
Yummy Caramello koalas, biscuits from Byron Bay and Australian tea.
After I had wrapped everything up and was putting them
into the box, I realised I forgotten to add a skein of
Cottage Garden threads that goes nicely with Tilda fabrics.
Luckily I remembered before I taped up the box and posted it.

I really enjoyed making these swap gifts for Julie.
It was made even better that we were able to face-time
each other while opening our gifts.
After many years of "chatting" on line it was
so wonderful to speak in person.

Across The Ditch Tilda Swap (Part 1)

Julie from My Threadbear Life and I recently did a swap.
We were to make each other something using
Tilda fabric as we both love Tilda.
We waited until both of us had received our parcels
before opening them. Mine arrived from New Zealand
well before Julie got her parcel.
The big day came and we face-timed
together for the grand opening of gifts.
OMG! Julie made me the most beautiful doll.
Secretly I was hoping she would make me a doll
as Julie makes the most gorgeous dolls.
The photo doesn't do it justice.
Her sweet face. I'm calling her Tilly.
Tilly's apron is made from a beautiful vintage doily.
Julie knows I love vintage linens.
Julie also made me this lovely pouch.

Inside were these goodies.
A sweet little Tilda paper bunting.
A close up of one of the ladies.
Don't you just love this beautiful jug? I do!
Julie makes candles in up-cycled jugs, cups and glasses.
The fragrance is French Pear and Julie knows I love it.
In the photo with the bunting above you see one of Julie's
candles in a glass jug. This is one I received in her giveaway last year.
It sits in my sewing room and every time I walk in I can smell it.
Some New Zealand chocolate and a NZ magazine.
Thank you so much for all my beautiful gifts Julie.
It was even better that we were able to chat
with each other as we opened our gifts.
You can see what I made for Julie in my next post.

Tilda Windy Days Stitchalong Week 5

Our week 5 project is this glasses case.
I'm going to keep this one for myself.
I've been using this glasses case since 2010!
I received it from Carol when I first started participating in swaps.
It was a F.R.I.E.N.D.S swap. You can read about it here
So it's probably about time for an update, don't you think!
I'm also still using those scissors. They are my favourite pair!

A Tilda Swap And A Stitchalong!

I recently took part in another Tilda Lovers Club swap.
We had to make our partner a wall hanging,
table runner or table topper. I made this wall hanging for Fiona.
This isn't a good photo as the colours aren't showing up
as nice as they are. I used Woodland range of fabric.
This is the table runner I received from Natalie.
Natalie used the Maple Farm range.
Week one of our Windy Days stitchalong was announced yesterday.
I'm all set for project number one.

We were able to do all our stitcheries in advance of the
stitchalong which was great. Now all we need to do is put
our projects together when Fee presents each project.
I just have to finish my last stitchery.
The stitchalong goes for 10 weeks and
we have lots of different projects. They are all
a mystery until our weekly chat with Fee!

Christmas Wishes

My Tilda Christmas Wishes stitchery is finished.
I bought one of those cheap white frames from Kmart
and gave it a light sand before painting.

The red was a perfect match for the thread.
I'm so happy with how the frame came up with painting it.
You may remember this was given to me by
Karen of Sunburnt Quilts back back in July 2014.
Well Karen, it's only taken me 7 years but it's finished! LOL!

An Easter Swap

We had an Easter Swap with the Tilda Lovers Club.
You had to send a mug rug, a fabric vessel of some sort
and something with a rabbit theme.
My mug rug. I used a stitchery from
Gail Pan's Patchwork Loves Embroidery Too.
A fabric basket.
For the rabbit theme, I made a needle case.
The inside.
A scissor fob to match.
And a rabbit pin cushion. How cute is this!
These are the goodies I received from Deb.
The mug rug is reversible!
The back.

I don't usually decorate for Easter but have decided I am going to
from now on. In the past I have put these out.
Michelle from Rag-Tag Stitchin' made me the cute rabbit bag.
I looked through my blog and that was back in 2012!
I've started collecting a few little rabbits.
Have you been to Bed, Bath and Table?
They have gorgeous Easter things!
I need to make a mini quilt for my stand but that will be next year.
Now do I do a stitchery one, an appliqued one or a pieced one?
Decisions, Decisions!
