This is a piece written in just intonation, designed to shift subtly lower in pitch without it being obvious to listeners. In the leading voice part, every note is a new reference point tuned purely to the note preceding. There are three variations of a harmonic sequence, and each time it repeats it starts 44 cents lower. The intervals are all within 5-limit just intonation. The other parts tune triadically (with some 7ths) around the leading voice.
