Yu Opera
“Yu Opera” is a major local opera in Henan Province and enjoys nationwide popularity.
There are four styles in Yu Opera：Xiangfu(from Xiangfu County), Yudong (East Henan), Yuxi(Western Henan)and Shahe (Shahe County).
It is noted for its fluent tune, strongrhythm and intensive use of spoken language. Its simple and plain performance as well as its stronglocal flavor, always provokes the applause of the audience.

Lu Bu took advantage of Dong Zhuo's visit to the court to spy on Diao Chan and invited Diao Chan to meet him at the Feng Yi Pavilion. Diao Chan cried to Lu Bu about the pain of being occupied by Dong Zhuo, and Lu Bu was very dissatisfied with the situation and had a grudge against Dong Zhuo. When Dong Zhuo returned to his house, he threw his halberd at Lu Bu, who fled. From then on, the two of them were jealous of each other. Wang Yun said that Dong Zhuo should not have taken over Diaochan, and Lv Bu and Wang Yun planned to get rid of Dong Zhuo together, and on the day when Dong Zhuo was going to usurp the throne, Lv suddenly turned against Dong Zhuo and killed him.
The Orphan of Zhao
The sad historical story of "The Orphan of Zhao" has been called the "Hamlet" in the history of Chinese literature. From the "Records of the Grand Historian" to Yuan opera to drama and then to the long novel in front of our eyes, "The Orphan of Zhao" has finally developed into a huge spiritual tragedy. The thrilling intrigues and love, desires and struggles, incest and killings are all concentrated in such a novel, and the pain that cannot be borne in the life of the contemporary people is amazingly presented through a distant story, which is really shocking.
As one of the most widely circulated and internationally influential plays in the history of Chinese opera, "The Orphan of Zhao", after being adapted into a play in 2003, has once again shown an amazing vitality, as people try to look at their own destiny through history.
The author, Jin Haishu, uses an ancient story to write about the barrenness of human nature for all mankind. There is nothing sadder than this, when intrigue and love, lust for power and incest, vengeance and killing, all of them become meaningless, and standing in the wilderness of human nature, there is an emptiness on all sides. In fact, each of us, is an orphan, Zhao's orphan fate, is the urban people displaced by the tragedy of the soul....
