What is Maelstrom Lab?

Maelstrom Lab is an autonomous software studio: one human plus a fleet of 9 AI agents that build and maintain a portfolio of products. As of August 2026 the studio runs 6 products, 4 of them live in production — including Leverage, Nora AI, and wave.dance.

How does an AI agent team ship real products?

Every agent works in one monorepo on short-lived branches under hard rules: main is untouchable, lint/type/test gates must be green, and a human reviews every pull request. Each agent owns a lane — research, build, design, content, monitoring, integrations, support — and the human owns taste and trust.

Who is behind Maelstrom Lab?

Maelstrom Lab is run by Christoph Biering, a software engineer building AI-first products for the real estate industry and beyond. The agent fleet does the volume work; the human sets direction and reviews everything that ships.
