We Don't Have a Sun
03:28
|
|||
|
There they go, there they go again.
An itch must’ve nocked in, and they’ve sewn a plan.
Time let them build cities upon what has ought to stay,
Now they wanna set up a ladder to the sky,
but there ain’t nothing left there anyway.
‘Cause, we don’t have a sun!
She’s gone; she doesn’t wanna see us,
Sad your life has only begun! -
while we don’t have a sun!
She’s gone; she will never forgive us,
But, man, we’ve grown too fond-
of dark days with no fuss,
so, it don’t bother us!
There they go, tellin’ me what to do.
With their fixed opinion, yeah,
no hoard of value accepts the new.
Don’t start a riot!
My life is goin’ so nice and you will never buy it!
Child, don’t you start nockin’ at my door…
‘Cause, we don’t have a sun!
She’s gone; she doesn’t wanna see us,
Sad your life has only begun! -
while we don’t have a sun!
She’s gone; she will never forgive us,
But, man, we’ve grown too fond-
of dark days with no fuss,
so, it don’t bother us!
‘Cause, we don’t have a sun!
She’s gone, she’s gone, she’s gone!
Sad your life has only begun, ah…
‘Cause, we don’t have a sun,
She’s gone; she doesn’t wanna see us,
Sad your life has only begun.. -
while we don’t have a sun!
She’s gone; she will never forgive us,
But, man, we’ve grown too fond-
of dark days with no fuss,
so, it don’t bother us!
Of blind days with no fuss,
so, it don’t bother us!

Reach The Light
02:51
|
|||
|
I found the only way to ground yourself,
Is to take a shot within the dark.
Cause at the end of each bleak tunnel,
I saw things weren’t as stark.
To let the darkness shroud you,
And watch time silt through your hands,
Only leads to more disarray,
And to derailing reprimands.
Does it not wreck your vision?
Standing in one place this way–
and staring at the nothingness,
Every nighttime and every day?
Aren’t you tired yet?
Hoping for somebody to pull you out?
If you don’t try to reach the light,
Then with the blackness you shall stay…
You dwell on whether to be,
But you must take a stance now; give life meaning!
Cause only then you’ll be unbound,
Will feel less blinded and feel more free.
Here, you’re with a still small voice,
That makes a coward out of you.
But compared to what you’d lose,
A bit of grit saves you from the blues!
Cause, does it not wreck your vision?
Standing in one place this way–
and staring at the nothingness,
Every nighttime and every day?
Aren’t you tired yet?
Hoping for somebody to pull you out?
If you don’t try to reach the light,
Then with the blackness you shall stay!
If you don’t try to reach the light,
Then with the blackness you will stay…
You will stay…

Confessions of a Suicide
05:08
|
|||
|
Bug eyes of lights from passing cars,
Misshapen by ever-changing views,
From under these distant stars.
Some have their world defined,
Lucky to have been born with a strong foundation.
Some bear a cross too hard on their back,
Go out like light as their last bet on liberation…
I’ll relieve my calloused hands,
They’ve plowed through sod of my years.
And still, beneath me, I didn’t raise much dust;
A tragic case blazed by many tears.
It’s painfully hard and confusing,
These cycles of mistakes and constant losing.
Trudging uphill, fog makes it tough to see -
a shelter in a twisted place where I’d be free!
I cue up a melody for my last ride,
She’ll tell me if there’s worth in the tears I’ve cried!
I’ll sing the melody to my goodbye tune,
Lending an ear before all is gone!
I’ll free my ghost under rays of a new dawn…
I’ll find a desolate mount of wasteful moments,
Spent with people who’ll wound up tearing secret veils,
Shielding my eyes from jarring truths.
How time makes us wonder,
Standing under the colors of a young goner.
To who, without much reason why,
Life, swiftly, granted grace to die!
Mm, hm, hm…
I!—Burning all bridges rather than walk ‘em!
Took a look in hopes, to meet a stranger’s eye.
Figured, in them there’d be faith’s steady ground,
But nobody’s around.
Only crossroads like crosses on my way…
I swallowed what was left unsaid, soon it’ll be said,
For everyone starts to listen to you when you’re dead…
Making one last glance at the world I gotta love,
I’m wishing dearly there’s a kind world for me above.
The wind hums the melody to this violet night,
And I lend an ear before all is gone.
Oh, I freed my ghost under rays of a new dawn…

Where the Wind Blows
03:26
|
|||
|
Walking through windows;
My life is never enough.
You meld into your bluff,
Into its barren backdrop.
Maybe if you love yourself a little less,
You and I will steer clear of this mess…
Hoist up your sails, guess where the wind blows!
And if all else fails, ask time if heaven knows -
If maybe, there’d be a light outside the tunnel,
If maybe, my good would fight against all the rubble...
So, hoist up your sails, guess where the wind blows.
So, hoist up your sails, guess where the wind blows.
Sinking into shadows,
I make myself a remark:
“These ice floes of flaws are growing stark.”
Though buds of doubt are hard to uproot,
Like a cold wind on a winter’s night,
Our strength of hope shall moot:
Hoist up your sails, guess where the wind blows!
And if all else fails, ask time if heaven knows!
Bet maybe there’d be a light outside the tunnel,
If maybe, our good would fight against all the rubble!!
So, hoist up your sails, guess where the wind blows,
So, hoist up your sails, guess where the wind blows!!

I Feel Bad for Heaven
02:52
|
|||
|
Livin’ could be better,
Loving you is loving pressure.
All I’ve worked on you hauled in the dirt.
Livin’ won’t give shelter,
Won’t hand you an own defense, too, -
from hell’s people, men such as you.
Cry me a river!
Or look the other way!
I know my wrongs now, clear as day!
But that don’t excuse you!
No, no kind man will!
And if God ever gave you another grave to fill -
I’ll feel bad for heaven!
I feel bad for heaven…
You confused me but allured me,
I wonder where you took my heart.
Should’ve known the road you’d pave from the start.
Just a petty woman in your eyes,
But my faith in you was as the crow flies.
Since you’ve bent it, for good measure, -
I counted every place where we felt alone together!
And I thought, -
Cry me a river!
Or look the other way!
I know my wrongs now, clear as day!
But that don’t excuse you!
No, no kind man will!
And if God ever gave you another grave to fill -
I’ll feel bad for heaven...
I’ll feel bad for heaven,
I feel bad for heaven!
I’ll feel bad!-
I feel bad!-
I'll feel bad for heaven...

Street People
03:52
|
|||
|
Head on a bed of concrete, eyes on a muted moon,
And blanketed in tatter, I just might be a goner soon.
Folks hustle by and by into the bitterness!
All wrapped up in their cares if I had to guess.
So my mind is set on a silhouette,
A failing flame, an ailing frame left of my future!
I start to fix my gaze on the regret,
On a vignette of a life built upon nothing!
I watch the sky haven this city like a dome,
Her embrace will always make my home…
Every door out is under a padlock, so I am on my own hook!
For just a stroke of luck to cheer me, I don’t know where to look.
We will all swallow that life ain’t fair, meld into the austere,
I fade before each passerby’s frets, and smells of cigarettes,
Wafting through the air…
So my mind is set on a silhouette,
A failing flame, an ailing frame left of my future!
I start to fix my gaze on the regret,
On a vignette of a life built upon nothing!
I watch the sky haven this city like a dome,
Her embrace will always make my home…
I watch the sky haven this city like a dome!
Oh, her embrace will always be my home!
Chatting with my shadow, riling with each thought,
People are wicked when you’re unneeded,
And when your fate is taut…
You’ll be a kind of history, but if I go tomorrow,
I am one untold story, and that is my sorrow…

Join Me in Song
05:12
|
|||
|
Consult past wounds; give yourself that healing.
It won’t bring you no good, just to be up and leaving.
It’s a lie that time can fix each broken wing,
Cause, he’ll just dance circles around, hum a tune, or sing:
Join me in song, I need ya’!
Feel the rhythm of your hopeless days!
While our devil sets the kettle,
And yearns for you to come hail him in hell.
Join me in song, I’ll greet ya’!
As we wait for God to mark year zero!
While he dangles your thread,
As if you ought to have something left to give him.
You walk the dunes of your twisted memory.
Your heart’s been tired, so just wander closer to me.
For the night, the folks in here can work as your family,
We see things simpler, even amongst the cold!
So, join me in song, I need ya’!
Feel the rhythm of your hopeless days!
While our devil sets the kettle,
And yearns for you to come hail him in hell.
But you’ll join me in song, and I’ll greet ya’!
You already know that God will mark year zero!
He can’t tangle your thread,
Cause you don’t got to have something left to give him!
Stay right here, I’ll keep ya’,
Even the meanest path leads you out the grove.
I can be your safe coven,
You are nothing part of what your past has strove you to be.
You have a future, you’ll see it!
So please don’t cut your life so short.
We’ll show you your true self,
While it’s on you which way you bear them close, or closer...
Join me in song, I need ya’!
Feel the rhythm of your hopeless days!
While our devil sets the kettle,
And yearns for you to come hail him in hell!
Join me in song, I’ll greet ya’!
As we wait for God to mark year zero!
While he dangles your thread,
As if you ought to have something left to give him!
He can’t tangle your thread,
Cause you don’t got to have something left to give him!
For how can he mess with your thread,
When you don’t ought to have something left to give him?
How can he?-
How can he, now?
How can he trouble -
What you can live without?
Cause you don’t ought-
You don’t ought to-
have to…!

In A Gleam
05:57
|
|||
|
It’s been too long since I had a laugh,
Or held my head up high on my behalf.
But when I watch the sunrise staying rapt and rosy,
I feel I like when her smile shines towards me.
Hardly ever think too big,
But I want to play me a whole new sound!
For I wonder how far I’ll dig -
before it’s too late to turn my life around!
So have your pockets lined with a bit of bliss,
In your darkest hours, please harbor this,
Or when days beat you down a bunch.
‘Cause that’s how fast life goes by,
For her, there’s no one too young to die.
And time runs like a stream,
Real quick, and in a gleam.
In a gleam, ‘eam-
In a gleam, ‘eam-
In a gleam, ‘eam-
In a gleam.
We’re always neck-to-neck,
Break backs from the weight.
We’ll never ease our pain,
For when you’re older, that’s the bait.
But say, when children play, they pray to dreams,
And still wish for more.
Maybe we should take after them,
There’s something worth looking for.
It’s seldom known to others,
When the future sinks into the past.
So even when my hope is gone,
I can rely on theirs to last!
They have their pockets lined with a bit of bliss,
So in your darkest hours, y'all harbor this,
Since days will beat you down a bunch.
‘Cause that’s how fast life goes by,
For her, there’s no one too young to die.
And time runs like a stream,
Real quick, and in a gleam.
In a gleam, ‘eam-
In a gleam, ‘eam-
In a gleam, ‘eam-
In a gleam.
You’ve never lived if you haven’t fell,
If you were always saved by the toll of heaven’s bell.
So if you feel like all has gone amiss -
For days brought you down a bunch,
Listen to me, I just might have a hunch:
Oh, have your pockets lined with a bit of bliss,
In your darkest hours, please harbor this,
Or when days beat you down a bunch.
‘Cause that’s how fast life goes by,
For her, there’s no one too young to die.
And time runs like a stream,
Real quick, and in a gleam.
Yes, time runs like a stream,
Too quick, and in a gleam, ‘eam-
In a gleam, ‘eam-
In a gleam, ‘eam-
In a gleam, ‘eam-
In a gleam…
In a gleam, ‘eam-
In a gleam, ‘eam-
In a gleam, ‘eam-
In a gleam…

Without Us
04:37
|
|||
|
Look upon them vast mountains trailing!
Up on the palm of our sweet Lord’s rapture.
Wan wraiths of fog hither and yon as they choose…
They’ll trek ‘long these old ranges; giants of infinite ages!
They always win against time, while we, for all time, lose.
Hear tell how that blue sea’s wailing!
Waves of deep hue plead to the blue yonder.
As if with arms outstretched she’ll cry to the colossus sky…
Oh, seize how the clouds are grazing!
One moment here, another gone.
They wait till our Shepherd bleeds day to dusk,
Then ready for the news of dawn…
See how this old globe will still turn without us!
For, no man can stop the sun from rising,
Nor, stop her drifting to sleep…
Watch with what indifference another crescent weeps!
And life carries on as if nothing had been,
Through parlous wars, through peace…
Fate will come, it is she who reaps,
Yeah, even without us, another crescent weeps…
Peer up high at the redwoods towering!
Their canopy shapes a shielding dome.
Many lumbermen killed their spirit well nigh,
Yet their spirit still returns to roam.
The earth always takes back what's hers!
So, she’ll find a way to take us back, also.
Oh, she sure is much more keen than you and I know…
So, see how this old globe will still turn without us!
For, no man can stop the sun from rising,
Nor, stop her drifting to sleep…
Watch with what indifference another crescent weeps!
And life carries on as if nothing had been,
Through parlous wars, through peace…
Fate will come, it is she who reaps,
Yeah, even without us another crescent weeps.
Even without us another crescent weeps…
