I've known Nightwish since their first album, and in the years that followed, there were many evergreens with Tarja. Surprisingly, "Dark Passion Play" became my favorite album, as it seemed incredibly inspired and passionate. Since then Nightwish inspired me less and less. Only "Yesterwynde" is a small comeback for me. The album is diverse, symphonic, and has a conceptual charm. It's a pleasant listen without being as outstanding as their old stuff. Recommended: "The Antikythera Mechanism".

Awesome songwriting and a perfect balance between melody and brutality — both in the vocals and the overall sound. Ascension is Paradise Lost at their sharpest, and honestly the best they’ve released to this day.

I have not heard a symphonic metal band on the scale of Nightwish until I recently discovered VOA. This album is outstanding, just listen to Underwater and tell me there is no talent...you can't! The whole Armada album is excellent, hoping for several more albums from them in the future. Can't recommend them highly enough.
