I can't believe August is almost over! Where is the year going?!
Today we're sharing our last sketch challenge for this term's design team. I am staying on another term but some of the girls are leaving & we all worked on this double page sketch for our last project together. This was difficult for me because I rarely do double pages. Luckily I have a ton of photos to scrap from our trip to Green Bay at the end of July. These photos are from the last day of training camp that we attended. We were there for three hours.
Here's our sketch:
Here's my layout:
I used Crate Paper's Fourteen for the background paper; the green was perfect. The yellow star patterned paper is Studio Calico. I used some stamps from Studio Calico, Paper Smooches, & shopevalicious.com with some yellow pigment ink from American Crafts, garden grass chalk ink from Prima, & onyx Versafine ink. The labels are Chic Tags & Elle's Studio. Some older items from my stash are the Amy Tangerine vellum hearts, the Jillibean Soup cardstock label sticker, & the Cosmo Cricket tiny type yellow letter stickers.
A lot of items came from the August Studio Calico kits: the asterisks, the file tab, the sequins, the gold washi.
Our September prize is a mystery variety of 6x6 paper pads!
How to Play Along:
1. Make a newly created project using the provided sketch and upload it to your blog or online gallery.
2. Then

many times as you want. If you don't have a particular shape indicated
in the sketch, feel free to substitute.
4. There is no time limit -
you can always play any week at any time, but the linking form will

Well, this post ends my term with Gelatins stamps design team. As a huge thank you to Bonnie, Jessica, & all of the girls during my time I want to extend a huge thank you.
My card was made with the leopard background stamp from Gelatins using Prima chalk inks in farmer jeans & teal damask. The papers & stickers are Sassafras. The sentiment stamp (Paper Smooches) is stamped with StazOn in jet black.
Again, I want to say a huge thank you to Bonnie & the whole Gelatins crew for this amazing experience!

love this tour.
At the end of July, we went to Green Bay for training camp. While we were there, we did the Lambeau Field stadium tour. It was pretty cool, but like I mentioned not as awesome as the Dallas Cowboys tour we did in 2011. These three photos are Instagrams we took while on the tour.
I used one of the new Dear Lizzy die cut frames that are available for pre-order at the Whimsical Twist store. I also used some of the OA Travel Girl tidbits & the wood veneers from the Carte Postale line by Basic Grey.
The labels are from Elle's Studio, MME, & cut outs from the August Studio Calico kit. I used a Studio Calico stencil & the mist is Mister Huey's Doris. The stamps are from the SC July 2013 stamp add on, the August 2013 kit, & the June 2013 kit. The grey chevron washi is from an older SC kit & the black chalk tape is new Fancy Pants.

sweet wishes|Whimsical Twist challenge #2 - favorites.
I'm sharing my project for our second challenge this month - favorites. This could be your favorite photo, your favorite products, your favorite event, etc. I chose my favorite day, which is my birthday. I just turned 29. We spent the morning (our last morning) in Green Bay at the Packers training camp & then the rest of the day driving back home. The night ended with balloons & cupcakes.
I used some new products on this page - the Dear Lizzy frame around the photo, the Amy Tangerine Cut & Paste papers. Lots of fun stuff here. Be sure to check out all the great stuff Kimmie has in the Whimsical Twist shop! Pre-orders available too!
I also used some flair from A Flair for Buttons from my prize a while back at Sketch n Scrap! [The stamps are from the August Studio Calico kit Woolf.]
So, you ready to play along with us?! Share a project using your favorite something & you could win a $15 gift certificate to the Whimsical Twist store! There are several other ways to enter - visit the WT blog for all the details. Challenge ends August 30.

HI [card].
I wanted to try my new Amy Tangerine embroidery stencil kit & I thought the "hi" would be great on a card. Turns out, I'm not so great at embroidery.
I used the Happiness stamp set from Gelatins Stamps & created a background with one of the thin border stamps from this stamp set. The yellow ink is coldsfoot petals Prima chalk ink. Everything else on my card is from the August Studio Calico kits. Thanks for stopping by today!

a manicure & a photobomb. [LCOM sketch #33]
Hey Hey! I'm sharing a layout today with the LCOM sketch #33. It's a card sketch but I switched it up to create an 8.5 x 11 size layout. Here's the sketch:
For my layout, I used October Afternoon's Midway patterned papers. I used a lot of stamping - the Studio Calico July 2013 stamp add on, the Molly July kit add on stamp, & the camera is an Amy Tangerine stamp from another SC kit. The inks are teal damask from Prima & an orange pigment ink from American Crafts. The vellum stitched hearts are also Amy Tangerine & the teal glitter tape & the orange paperclip are American Crafts as well. The wood veneer arrow is from Freckled Fawn & I used two whatnots from the Glitz Love you Madly collection.
Here's my layout:

Menominee Park.
I'm starting in on our vacation photos from our end of July trip to Wisconsin. On the Saturday we were there, I didn't set the alarm right so we overslept & missed the Packers practice. We also had to stop at Kohls to find a long sleeve shirt - it was only 55 degrees there! So we arrived to watch the players come back from practice on the bicycles & then we headed for Oshkosh. There were outlets there I wanted to hit & then afterward, TJ found a nearby park on Lake Winnebago. The park had a "zoo" alebit small.
I forget what these animals are called (& I've tried Google-ing to no avail) but there was a food dispenser nearby & for 25 cents you got a handful of food. I think we ended up spending $1 feeding them. They moo-ed & perked up when they heard the machine & immediately came to the fence.
I was inspired by the polka dots challenge at City Crafter + Rochelle Spear's 'travel themed' challenge + Kristie B's August challenge.
Everything is from the August Studio Calico kits + I added some Elle's Studio serendipity tidbits.

girls.
I found a stack of photos from my year of third grade. Our teacher sent home a folder at the end of the year with bits of writings, accomplishments/awards, & photos she had taken throughout the year.
Of the girls in this photo, I am still in touch with two of them. One is my cousin & she is expecting a baby next month. The other was a good friend through high school & college & she now lives in Kansas & just had a baby.
I used the August Studio Calico kits Woolf & Salinger on this one. I think the only thing from the main kit (Marks & Co) is the gold washi, which is just beautiful. I was inspired by this sketch at Scrap Much?, which I converted to 8x5 x 11 size.

just for you.
Love Knots is one of my favorite Gelatins stamps. I love this stamp! I paired it with a sentiment stamp from Little Buddies.
The pink ink on the background Love Knots stamps is Pretty in Pink by Stampin' Up. The sentiment is stamped with onyx Staz On. The papers are from my July Studio Calico kit. The little jar is cut from a Dear Lizzy patterned paper from the Lucky Charm collection. I added some Timeless Twine & a label sticker from Crate Paper Paper Heart collection.
Here's another shot of that Love Knots stamp:

a day without laughter...
I was inspired by the Timeless Twine sketch:
& this CASE study:
I used three stamps from Sweet Stamp Shop on this card. The background stamp is distressed chevron & I love this background stamp. I also used warm notes & old fashioned afternoon (sentiment). The inks are Prima chalk ink in moss lawn & onyx black by Versafine. The chevron patterned paper is by October Afternoon, the arrows are Freckled Fawn (inked with American Crafts pigment ink) & the twine is Timeless Twine.

Without further ado, let's get this celebration started! Our first challenge is inspired by summer!
I was really inspired by this mason jar photo from our inspiration board, which made me think of camping. I don't camp BUT we did have a fire over at mom's & made s'mores that were really yummy. So I thought those photos would work really well with my idea.
The background paper is an older piece of Pink Paislee from the Enchanting line & I used a 6x6 patterned paper from the Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm collection. I also used some Studio Calico stamps (July kits), Sweet Stamp Shop (Warm Notes) & the 'remember this' stamp is from shopevalicious.com. The inks I used were both Prima chalk inks - shabby tote & English Ivy. Everything else is from the Whimsical Twist store.
.
Now, head off to Taniesa's blog to see her lovely creation. If you get lost along the way, here is the order of the hop:
