so sweet|LCOM sketch #39

We've got another great sketch this week & I made another layout from our Green Bay trip in July. Here's the sketch we used:
Here's my layout, a 12x12 page. Instead of using one 4x6 photo, I used two smaller photos. These were Instagram photos taken at this wonderfully delicious little cafe we stopped at in Oshkosh, WI. If you are ever there, visit the Caramel Crisp & Cafe - everything they have is amazing!

This patterned paper is American Crafts|Dear Lizzy & I love the pretty color, as well as the ink splatter. Perfect with this sketch! The ombre patterned paper is Crate Paper & the polka dot paper is American Crafts|Amy Tangerine.

This stamp set is from the August SC add on kit, Woolf, & the inks are onyx Versafine & Prima chalk ink in tin can. I used some labels from Chic Tags & Elle's Studio. I also used some washi & the stamp set from the August main kit, Marks & Co.

Here's how to play along with us at LCOM. The September prize is a mystery variety of 6x6 paper pads.
1. Make a newly created project using the provided sketch and upload it to your blog or online gallery.
2. Then leave a link to your project using the Inlinkz widget HERE. Please use a direct link to your LCOM Sketch post and not just your blog address.
3. If you upload to online galleries, please also use tag/keyword LCOM39. LCOM products are NOT required to participate, and you can enter as many times as you want. If you don't have a particular shape indicated in the sketch, feel free to substitute.
4. There is no time limit - you can always play any week at any time, but the linking form will close on the last day of the month at 8:00pm (Atlantic Standard Time) to allow us to find a prize winner.

happy happy moments.

The last week in August we kind of last minute decided to go to the Bengals/Colts pre-season game in Cincinnati. My brother had the week off work and since TJ and I had talked about going, we decided we were all going to go. I found coverage at work and cheap tickets (like $47 for third row seats) and we were off!

I was inspired by the week 2 sketch at ScrapMuch? but I am so terrible at following sketches that it's hard to see my inspiration.

I used several stamp sets here, all from Studio Calico. The black ink is onyx by Versafine and the grey ink is old road by Prima chalk ink. I also used some tags from Elle's Studio and Chic Tags and some labels from Basic Grey Capture line. The enamel dots are Prima sugardots and Teresa Collins' He Said She Said line.

I used the Glitz roller doodle from the Raven collection for the triangles with some orange American Crafts pigment ink. The mask is a Studio Calico circle graph mask and it's misted with Mister Huey's in sherbet.

I love you summer memories.

I was inspired by Kristi B's scrap your favorite summer memories challenge to finish up some of the photos from our GB trip in July. I know a football training camp isn't everyone's idea of a great summer memory but this was so cool & I'm so glad we were able to do this.

I combined this challenge with the Stuck?! Sketches September 1 sketch challenge HERE.

I used some of my September SC kits, along with some Elle's Studio, and the July SC stamp add on. I also received my Freckled Fawn order this week and I am in love with these puffy star stickers. I ordered one in every color.

The doily is from my stash but the misting is Studio Calico Mister Huey's in hot diggity. It's a really great red that I love. I also used some BG stickers and the inks are onyx from Versafine & jet black Staz On. The "today" flair is from A Flair for Buttons. So cute.

Also...
I won the August challenge Kristi B has with this layout, which is awesome!

amazing moment|Whimsical Twist challenge.

We hope you'll join us at Whimsical Twist for our next challenge.  This challenge is to use borders/scallops/doilies on your project.

This photo is from the Gary concert in January. It was his album release party & after the concert, I saw his steel guitar player in the parking lot.
the flair made it scan a little funky

Your projects are due September 27 & you can view more details (as well as the other DT projects) HERE.

My supplies are linked below. The two items not linked are the stamp sets I used & my border punch. The stamp "amazing moment" is from the August Studio Calico kit & is stamped with garden grass Prima chalk ink. The border stamp I used (stamped with shabby tote Prima chalk ink) is from MME Stella and Rose & it's called Hattie "Remember" Stamps.

prison plants.

The prison offers a horticulture class to offenders and when the class is over, the teacher allows employees to take home the plants. They have flowers, trees, everything you could dream to grow in your garden. I'm not there on dayshift to get any plants so a girl I work with told me she'd get some for me. I think I brought home six or eight total. I forget what they all were... pepper plants, a rubber plant, tomato plants, and a geranium.

This was in May. Nothing is still alive today. I don't know if it was too hot or too dry or too wet or too shady. I think my rubber plant was too wet. My geranium bloomed last week but has since died.

It's so sad.

This is an Instagram photo of my plants when I first brought them home. I used THIS sketch I found at Let's get Sketchy.

T & M | LCOM sketch #37

Here's our sketch:

& here is my layout:

I did stick with the 12x12 layout size but I kept it pretty simple because I loved this paper (Dear Lizzy/American Crafts) I used for the background. Instead of using three photos on a diagonal, I used some cork hearts to create the same diagonal affect. The colors in the photo are so pretty that I really wanted the photo to pop on the page.

My friend got married in Florida earlier this year.

The stamps I used on the bottom left are from the Wildberry Court SC add on kit & the stamp on the upper right is from the Marks & Co SC kit. The inks are Prima chalk inks in tin can & raspberry pie. I also used a Valentine's day set from Avocado Arts (January 2012: sweet treat sweetie) for the xoxo patterned stamp on the bottom left. That light pink ink is pretty in pink by Stampin' Up.

Almost everything I used can be found in the August Studio Calico kits - the heart flair is by A Flair for Buttons & the flower die cuts are American Crafts (Everyday collection).

Whimsical Twist has a chalkboard challenge going on until September 13 so I was inspired to use one of my MME frames from the Chalk Studio line. I thought the chalkboard & the Pink Paislee silver Luxe would make a classy card for an upcoming wedding.

yum!

One more layout using my stamp from the Woolf add on kit from August's SC kits. Last December, my grandma, my aunt, & I had a Christmas baking day. We may make this an annual tradition. These photos are Instagrams of our goodie trays & the peanut clusters, which are my favorites.

This was inspired by Rochelle's sketch HERE &  Brenda's challenge HERE. Brenda's challenge was to choose three items from her list & use them on your project. I chose washi, enamel dots, & chevrons.

Mask, mist (Mister Huey's bazinga), stamp, sequins: Studio Calico
inks: Prima chalk inks (shabby tote, old road)
"remember" stamp: Unity
"life is good" stamp: Technique Tuesday Simple Joy
enamel dots: My Mind's Eye Lost & Found 3 collection
stickers: Echo Park For the Record

1987.

I don't do a lot of food layouts but I wanted to use the foodie stamp set from the August Woolf add on kit from Studio Calico. I found some old photos from my third birthday & thought the stamp set would be great for this.

patterned papers: Sassafras
flair: A Flair for Buttons
die cuts, glitter tape: American Crafts

August running stats.

Run Distance: 11.94 miles
Run Time: 1:57:54 min
Total Time: 1:57:54 min
I slacked this month for no real reason other than being lazy. June + July were months I worked a lot of extra hours so August was kind of a "rest" month in general. This month, I'm getting back into it!

road trippin.'

A few months ago, mom & her boyfriend took a motorcycle trip & they sent me text message photos of their trip along the way. These are a few of the photos from their stops at distilleries.

I used this sketch from Scrap Much? & my August Studio Calico kits.
