follow your heart.

Another wedding page! This page was inspired by the May sketch at Let's Get Sketchy + week 1 challenge at Lasting Memories. That challenge was to use polka dot paper and flowers.

This page was another stash busting layout! That patterned paper is from Amy Tangerine's On a Whim collection and my stickers are from Simple Stories Romance collection from 2017 :)

happy.

I have no idea how I ended up scrapbooking this SAME photo twice... in the same week... and not realizing it. I think I've just been kind of out of it lately with everything going on.

So this page was inspired by Scrap Our Stash. I am using the Happiness collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio. Thanks for looking!

family.

Hi friends!

Today I'm sharing a page for the May single page sketch at Stick It Down. I sold all of my border punches because I never used them so for this page, I got out some dies and my Grand Calibur. These dies are from Reverse Confetti and they're meant for cards, of course. They're called Edge Essentials Confetti Cuts.

I really went through my stash for this page. Lots of Photo Play, Bella Blvd, some texture paste.
Thanks for looking!

remember. [NSD2020]

I have one more layout completed for the NSD challenges at Elle's Studio. I think I've done 3/5. This one is to focus on you and I actually have wanted to scrapbook this memory for about three years now, so this challenge was really motivating!

The speech bubbles are an Elle's Studio cut file and the patterned paper is from the Love is paper pack. I made the speech bubbles into shakers with Cotton Candy Land sequins from Spiegelmom Scraps. I haven't made a shaker in a while so that was fun!

Then I added some of the flair from Scrappin Happy Studio. Thanks for looking!

sweet.

I made this page for week 2 at Lasting Memories.

Striped paper, hand cut stars, and gold heart washi. This is an old photo of Ally, who we adopted back when I was in college. She lived to be 12 and was the sweetest girl.

May guest designer at Counterfeit Kit: challenge day!

Hi friends!

Today is challenge day at Counterfeit Kit! Our challenge is Oh Happy Day! Here was my May kit:
Here is my page for the challenge. I have a 4Runner and piled five other family members in to drive three hours last summer to my now sister-in-law's bridal shower. Fun times!
I hope you'll play along!

love you most [Challenge YOUrself 77].

Hey friends! Today we're revealing our May challenge at Challenge YOUrself. We want to see what mom means to you - and include a photo of yourself too!
I pulled out one of the ready to use mixed media patterned papers by Vicki Boutin and embellished with a lot of PinkFresh Indigo Hills2 collection. This collection is heavy on the purple, which is my least favorite color. I really took the opportunity to use up those purple embellies on this page - and I even had purple sequins in my stash!

Thanks for looking!

she's tough. [NSD 2020]

Hello again! I am scrapping tonight! This page is for another challenge at Elle's Studio. This challenge is about making a cut file your focal point.

This is the heart clusters cut file from Elle's Studio. My patterned paper is from the Love Is collection and then I used the packaging technique with some Scattered Straw distress ink on the background.

The quote is from my favorite TV show ever - Grey's Anatomy. I took three of the hearts that were cut out and used foam adhesive to place them over the spot where they were cut.

hello pumpkin season tradition. [NSD 2020]

Happy National Scrapbook day (a day late)! I worked yesterday so today I am having some scrappy time.

This layout is for one of the challenges at Elle's Studio. The challenge is to make a title with 4+ words. I combined some Elle's Studio puffy stickers with a cut file from Paper Issues to make my long title. The acrylic hearts, the house wood veneer, the patterned paper I backed my cut file with and the die cut labels are all from my Elle's Studio stash.

Every autumn at my old house, I would visit our local farmer's market to get mums and pumpkins to decorate out. Then I'd spend several minutes with Bentley, trying to get him to sit and pose. It's a tradition I hope to carry on in our new home. Last autumn was our first in our new house and we weren't quite settled yet, but this year I have big plans!

May guest designer at Counterfeit Kit: sweet.

Hello again! Yesterday I shared my kit selection video and my May Counterfeit kit.

Here's the first page I've made with my kit. I used one of the PinkFresh floral patterned papers and one of the chipboard circle frames from ScrapMatts. I mixed some white acrylic paint and Shimmerz (Pink Stillettos) to paint my chipboard.

The photo is of me in 1986. Then I just added a few of the embellishments that I chose for my kit. Some chipboard from Bella Blvd, a Thicker title and a little floral die cut. Thanks for looking!

May guest designer at Counterfeit Kit!

So excited to put my kit together this month for Counterfeit Kit! HERE was our inspiration kit. What stood out to me the most was all of the florals. If you know me at all, you know I am not a floral scrapbooker. So while I did want to incorporate some of the florals, I knew that was not going to be my focus.

When you're creating your own kits, do not think you have to copy everything exactly. This is an inspiration kit. Maybe you're inspired by a pattern, or an embellishment, or the stamp set, or the washi tape. Whatever you see that sparks your inspiration, go with it! HERE is a video of how I selected my May kit.

The first thing I saw that inspired my whole entire kit was this paper:
This floral frame reminded me of a patterned paper from Cocoa Vanilla Studio. So I pulled it out of my stash as my starting point. Then I looked at the rest of the patterned papers. I see pinks and turquoise and florals ...and a bold black print. Next I go through my stash of patterned papers and pull out anything that fits that description.
Then I noticed there were tons of little die cut embellishment pieces and a stamp set with a pretty scripty font.
I pulled out a few stamp sets and tons of embellishment packs from my stash. Once I had everything gathered, I started narrowing down the color scheme and fine tuning what matched and coordinated.

Here is my final kit:
Come back tomorrow to see the first layout I created with my kit!
